"Lovely cottage approx 25 min drive from Keswick. Felt remote and tranquil with immediate access to walking paths. Borrowdale Youth Hostel is closest amenities with a bar (one mile walk along the river). WiFi and incoming landline were problematic however the owner was most efficient in getting BT out to look at it. A digital detox isn’t a bad thing... closest 4G is up the hill along the track. Vodafone had best coverage by far.In terms of access, the bridge to enter the property is very tight. It’s a miracle we didn’t damage the car. Neighbours turn their vehicle at the turning point just beyond the bridge and approach from the other direction which is much better."

"Location is rural, local shop/café carry very little everyday goods. Construction College shop better but obviously more expensive. Swimming pool is cool and as salt water smells a bit like SeaWorld Hunstanton. Couldn't leave doors/windows open as inundated with flies and then spent time either killing them or spraying with fly killer. Mattresses need to be updated - master suite both sides of the bed have dips which you have to fit into or it's uncomfortable. Must be a lovely property in the summer being able to open the doors/windows/swimming pool doors. Just not for me, I like windows open 24/7. Sorry."

"We had a lovely holiday in Stable Cottage. The cottage was of high standard with everything we needed. The cafe next door looked really nice but our days were so full we arrived to late to sample the food. Richmondshire is beautiful with fantastic views especially on the small roads up to Barnards Castle. There are plenty of lovely walks at Reeth and the walk from Low force to High force is a must. Days out at Beamish and Bowes museum were just great. The nature reserve at Catterick Garrison is really worth a visit but do remember your driving licence as the army are very strict without ID."

"We had a wonderful holiday, a few points to make, there were lots of cobwebs and dust everywhere, so the cleaning could have been a bit better. It would be useful to have an extra fridge, as the weather was extremely hot, lots of things had to be kept in the fridge including drink and the fridge freezer was really not sufficient for 10 people.I stayed in the master bedroon, and the mirror does not have a power point nearby, so very difficult to blow dry my hair, there is a point by the bathroom door, but was still too far for me to see in the mirror.Apart from this, we had a fabulous time."

"Cottage was lovely, we had 5 adults and 2 kids. Sleeping accommodations worked well however the sitting room would be tight with 7 adults in it. There was excellent outdoor space and plenty of walks close by. The only downside (especially for someone not familiar with the area and travelling from abroad) was that there wasn't much for options for eating out nearby and every-time you want groceries you have to go all the way in to Keswick. If you are happy with the remoteness than I do recommend this cottage."
