"Lovely little village. New farm shop 2 miles away which is great. Owners quick to respond and had kindly agreed to us arriving earlier ( 1.15) if we needed too.Cottage...Bathroom in need of an overhaul. Not able to use bath due to faulty hot water tap ( no water coming out). Strong unpleasent smell of urine coming from around toilet floor which could not be missed. Owners made aware of smell and problem with bath straight away ( not sure how the problems were missed by cleaner or owners when they were there just prior to our arrival) They came round promptly to try and fix but could not. They did not want to inconvenience us with a plumber coming out during our stay. Whilst they did come out and we agreed to no plumber, it did spoil the stay. Owners have arranged for tap to be mended and the flooring is to be changed. It would have been nice if a gesture of goodwill had been offered to acknowledge the inconvenice. Owners are friendly. They are making improvmemts. Wood burner in lounge is nice and warm. Although it does say that fuel and electric ( electric radiators and oven) is provided, you need to supply own logs and coal etc. Best get from farm shop. Garden is lovely and had the weather allowed we would have enjoyed sitting out in it. Would we stay again ? No. We booked last minute so choice was limited. Not fault of owners. Owners very quick to respond and are keen to make sure work is done."

"This is our second visit to Wickwoods; we came back a year later because we enjoyed it so much the first time. We enjoy the complete privacy, the views of the Yorkshire hills and countryside, the sheep and cows and birds, and the attractions within easy driving distance. The cottage has everything one could ask for; someone thought very hard about what would make it comfortable for visitors. There are rugs and grab-rails pretty much everywhere. No cell service to speak of but the wi-fi works fine (though we did have to adjust the satellite receiver once after a cow shifted it a bit). We enjoy walking along the Nidd, and the views from Wath Lane above the cottage are spectacular. The convenience store in Pately Bridge is fine for most purposes, and easy to supplement with superstores in places like Ripon. Simply put, this is a great place, and we will be back."

"Good location, ideal size for two and the milk and cake on arrival were welcomed. However, a few small things that would have made the stay more comfortable: • Extra pillows - only one pillow per guest available, • No hair dryer available, • Fire lighters, newspaper and coal were available but no logs or kindling for the fire. Arriving once the village shop had closed we couldn't purchase any and although an electric heater was available, given the temperature we spent the first evening sat in the cold. Also we didn't want to leave an electric heater on overnight so the downstairs was extremely cold the following morning.• Wifi/internet would be a welcome addition, as well as a small supply of DVD’s (a small selection could be purchased from a charity shop!). Minor and inexpensive additions but they would have made a difference!"

"Gorgeous cottage & lovely friendly helpful host. There was a food/drink welcome pack on arrival.Great location for days out in & around the surrounding area. Close to high street, pubs & shops. The cottage had everything we needed & more. It was quiet, a parking space was nearby, plenty of towels & a good washing machine & a dryer if needed. Really cosy & homely with lots of toys there for children too, so a good choice for family’s (there was a stair gate at the top of the stairs for safety) Five of us went & it felt spacious. Everything had been thought of for a comfortable enjoyable stay.It was warm enough with the central heating even in snowy weather, so we didn’t use the stove but we thought that was a really nice feature & if we had of used it, it would of been extra cosy :)"

"We had a lovely weeks stay here, location is beautiful with amazing views and so close to bath. only a 10 min drive House is a lovely old cottage and so appreciate it has rustic charms. we had a very restful week here but did miss not having any WiFi as husband is self employed and did need to do some work and we used a lot of data on our phones. limited tv channels which may be an issue for some in the evenings, there is a wide range of dvds though which were great to watch after dinner. Top balcony has stunning views and we enjoyed sitting up there, just needed a sun umbrella to make it perfect as gets very hot up there in the sun. This is a great place for a quiet getaway for a couple, in a rustic location. overall a very enjoyable week away."
