What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Roy Palmer - Verified booking

Stone's Throw is a lovely property and was chosen by us because of its close proximity to The Sole Bay Inn. My wife has been diagnosed PSP which is a very rare form of dementia. We would normally have eaten out every evening but the pub didn't serve food during the week. This meant I had to cook for us. The kitchen is very nicely equipped, however, the instruction provided are inadequate. I had to telephone you to try and find out how to switch the hob on, there is a child-proof lock and the instructions on the hob have this hidden in very small print. I think there should be a more positive instruction about this at the head of the instruction. The oven instruction are totally inadequate. There is a note to say more comprehensive instructions are available online. An internet search only showed that you could purchase them. All of the kitchen appliance instructions are photocopied and reduced to get them one a sheet of A4. This makes the very difficult to read as the font size is below 8. The difficulty I had is very easily remedied and I hope is done so for future guests to what is a charming little cottage.

Very comfortable apartment, and the wine and biscuits were a treat - thank you.

Grateful also for being allowed to operate the CH and the bathroom heating. I tried to be careful with both. Just two issues - no batteries in the DVD player remote control. And the radiator in the living room is leaking at the thermostat. Had a wonderful holiday with my little dog, walking the footpaths around Southwold, Walberswick and towards Dunwich. Came across three firsts - a Chinese Water Deer, a weasel, and the boom of a number of bittern hidden in the reeds. Oh, and some delicious hot smoked mackerel from the fishmonger in the harbour. Then coming back to such a comfortable flat. Really enjoyable.

Great location and above a fantastic restaurant we ate at for dinner, takeaway, and breakfast. You do get a discount, but check your bill! The space is a good size for the cost and the property is well placed near the shops and beach. I think it’s perfect for a young family. We found the property really noisy with the restaurant extraction system running all night and the bed was very uncomfortable, but this might not bother everyone. I would also recommend you bring your own streaming stick as the channels were limited to C5 and Sky news! Fortunately the weather was fab, so didn’t watch much tv.

We found The View to be a very attractive apartment, light and airy, comfortable bed, very quiet and with far-reaching views across the town. It is very well positioned which is one of the things which made us choose it. I could see the church clock as I was lying in bed which was very useful for checking the time, LOL. For us, since we are in our 70s, the one downside was the lack of a lift. We thought we would be able to cope with the 56 stairs to the top floor but it was hard going. However, we would definitely recommend this flat to younger relatives and friends.

We loved our stay at Stones Throw! The property is comfortable and we felt able to make yourself at home immediately. I loved seeing the lighthouse every morning, although the blackout blind in the bedroom is great. The kitchen and bedrooms are cosy but this allows for a really generous living space which was lovely to spend time in. The location is fantastic for the beach, the pub, and a short walk to the high street. We particularly loved the eccentric local cinema and the diversity of places to eat and drink. I am sure we will be back!
