What our customers say about their holidays

    • The Henshaw Family - Verified booking

Beautiful Cottage very centrally placed for everything in Warkworth. Anything we needed to know was right there to hand in the ‘very informative’ guest information file – have to say one of the best we’ve ever had and we’ve stayed in quite a lot of properties. Perfection!! What else is there to say – It just went on and on! The baked goods and lovely flowers too!! Never had so much and we used it all too! There was a little bit of everything – even in the doggy basket. Just fab!! We felt relaxed and at home the minute we walked through the door. Spent a lot of time in the little conservatory area adjoining the lounge – lovely for mornings for breakfast and relaxing of an evening too. Everything was perfect for us. I have to commend you as a company – we had text messages or phone calls at every point of our holiday right up to the very last day. Very thorough and very caring and we felt ‘looked after’ the whole time. You were only a phone call away if needs be. Your properties and attention to detail are second to none even down to the little toiletries provided.

We enjoyed our stay at Sunny Cottage, great location for pubs that all serve food, and the river walk right from the doorstep of the cottage. We have visited Warkworth many times and have been to most of the beaches in the surrounding areas, and Warkworth beach is our favourite. Craster is worth a visit, a little harbour village. We had a nice walk to Dunstanburgh Castle, beautiful views, and also had some smoked kippers from The Smoke House. The weather has been splendid, and it’s been nice to sit in the sun room for my morning brew. Thank you to Coquet Cottages for the much-appreciated and enjoyed welcome hamper and flowers. We are sorry to be leaving but knowing we will be returning makes it a little easier! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cottage. The cottage was very clean, warm with lamps on for us on arrival, a very cosy feel!

Just like everyone else who has written in this journal, really happy and impressed with Sunny Cottage and Warkworth. Considering this was the week where storms were hitting the vast majority of the country, we have had sunshine. We’ve had great meals out at Topsy Turvey’s and The Hermitage. Lindisfarne (Holy Island) is a must, the scenery is wonderful, as is all of the coastline. We did park up and attempt to walk to Holy Island but it’s a lot further away than you might think, so unless you have enough time to beat the tide, don’t! Loved Rothbury, The Fishermans Inn at Boulmer. Well we’re going home really chilled. Would I come back to the North East? YES, Would I stay at Coquet Cottages? YES, Will I recommend Coquet Cottages? YES!

Despite the weather, Sunny cottage lived up to the name! It is in a beautiful location and very handy for the walks into the village and along the river bank. We have stayed in Sunny Cottage before and know the layout and position, which was perfect for our needs as we like that it is secluded. We thought the welcome basket was very generous indeed. The bread and scones were absolutely gorgeous and needless to say, the wine that was consumed in a flash. We can honestly say we loved everything about Sunny Cottage. My husband liked the mirror in the main bathroom as it was perfect for shaving. Perfect service as always which was very friendly and very efficient.

What a beautiful cottage, the finishing touches were so thoughtful and tasteful. Fabulous welcome pack and spa toiletries and the decoration and furnishings were exceptional. The location of the cottage was equally beautiful, very near the river at picturesque Warkworth. We’ll be back! The customer service from Beth was exceptional. She couldn’t have done more to make our holiday experience fantastic. The personalised biscuits and coffee, the presentation in the basket and cake container. Simply beautiful. We were so impressed with Coquet Cottages and Sunny Cottage. Thank you for a very memorable holiday.
