The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach. For a holiday with lofty aspirations, make sure to book a stay at The Loft.

Amble, a bustling small harbour at the River Coquet's mouth, is a great starting point for exploring Northumberland. In addition to sandy beaches, a marina, a harbour, and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and the national park at Druridge Bay, Amble, once a centre for boatbuilding, offers all of these amenities. A variety of fish, prawns, crabs, and lobsters are landed by the large fishing boats that are moored around the harbour wall. On the side of the harbour is a fish facility that sells local fish and is open to the public. It is currently mostly a shellfish hatchery to restock levels of lobster and other shellfish. Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a sizable population of terns, puffins, and eider ducks, is located one mile south of Amble. Boat tours around the island can be booked. A short drive will take you to attractive Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, charming Warkworth with its castle, and the National Trust's Wallington Hall and Cragside, in addition to a number of excellent beaches and charming coastal villages.

Really well maintained and spotless apartment. Excellent location for visiting Amble and the Northumbrian Coast. Perfect for a couple to escape from normal busy lives

We had a couple of messages between ourselves and Jan and Peter which were both helpful and generous.

9 out of 5 if it was possible. The only reason it's not five stars is because of the parking. However, once I'd worked out the best use of the time limits and convenient car park, especially on the morning I was leaving, it worked well. Otherwise I was extremely comfortable.. And a big thank you to the owners for their concern and local weather information on my arrival day which coincided with red weather warnings.
