"The cottage is lovely and excellent value for money. We will definitely consider coming back when our children are older. I would advise though that it isn’t really suitable for children as young as ours. The living space is all on the first floor with a difficult to block staircase in the middle of the room. This was tricky for us as we have two under twos, one of whom was desperate to fling herself down the stairs. There is also no bath which is hard with little ones. That said the hosts had done a number of things to make our stay comfortable which were much appreciated. There were milk, tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for us in the very well equipped kitchen and I was especially grateful for the clothes pegs and Tupperware in the cupboards. Overall this was a great place to be, a short drive from the attractions of the Forest of Dean and local supermarkets etc but nestled away on a quiet farm. We loved it but it’s definitely more suited to older children."

"This could have been a lovely cottage, and the setting is beautiful, but it needs a thorough overhaul. It needs decorating and broken things need mending. For instance it needed a lock on the shower room door and the fridge hads just one shelf in the door rather than the five that should have been there. We had good weather but if it had been cold the holes in the front door would have been a problem. Many of the comments in the visitors' book said the same so no-one seems to be taking any notice. There were rather abrupt notices around the place about what we must and must not do and we had to pay £45 extra for the week for use of a cold, small pool which wasn't available at all times (particularly the last morning when we could have had a final swim but chemicals had just been added). Though the £45 was stipulated in the cottage details it seems a lot for what we had.The grounds were well cared for so it's a shame the interior wasn't."

"Just returned from a lovely long weekend at The Landers. Spacious property with a very nice interior and enjoyed the hot tub and pool very much. My only negative would be the kitchen - the oven was complicated to use and not really big enough for us to cook what we were cooking for 8 people. Plus the smoke alarms are very sensitive so you're likely to set them off just making toast! (Better to be safe than sorry I guess). However there is a Beefeater and a Toby Carvery close by - we ate at both and both were excellent! We would also like to thank the owners for accommodating one of our party, who has recently been experiencing walking difficulties, by moving one of the single beds downstairs for her to sleep in. I wouldn't recommend this property if you have mobility issues however we booked this stay long before any health problems developed and the owners were very helpful in making our stay as comfortable as possible."

"We really enjoyed our short break at The Tallet. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you will need and full of character.Arlingham is a very quiet village with the nearest local amenities in Frampton-on-Severn a few miles away. The Red Lion is a short walk up the lane and is community owned freehouse pub with a friendly welcome, excellent beer & wine and great food. Well worth a visit, we ate there three times! We found plenty to do in the area with easy walks along the banks of the Severn and the nearby canal network. There are plenty of Cotswold villages nearby if you want to venture further afield, we did.The friendly owners live on-site and apart from a brief introduction we didn't see them although we knew they were nearby if we needed help. Perfect hosts. We have no hesitation in recommending The Tallet, you won't be disappointed."

"We had a delightful girlie birthday mountain biking weekend here in this spotless compact little cottage. Lovely location in a magical little valley with rural views from every window. We loved the tidy garden, the neat little farm and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was thoughtful of Steve to provide tea coffee milk and biscuits for our arrival. The weather turned very chilly while we there but with the excellent central heating we stayed super warm. The lounge was very comfy with a decent TV, and everything in top class condition, with a cosy 80's feel. There was plenty of space for parking and it took just a few minutes to drive to the nearest pub and about 15 mins to the cycle centre. The roads are steep and narrow here - great fun but watch out for deer leaping out in front of you!"
