"Comfortable cottage with a very friendly and helpful owner. There is a good level of equipment. The cottage is really quite hard to find as there are no signs whatsoever on the road to indicate where S67669 are to be found, nor even which is the farm where it is placed. When one does happen on the right property by trial and error, there are no signs or indications of any kind to show which build is S67669. I txted the owner in advance and we also rang the numbers provided but the owner did not reply to let us have arrangements for arrival so we had to just leave a message suggesting an arrival time and hope she would be there, which she was. No claim whatsoever is made that the cottage is in a scenic location but prospective renters should be aware that it is in a stable yard surrounded by farm buildings which are all that can be seen from the windows. I was warned when booking the the advertised wifi might not be wholly reliable but I mistakenly took this just to be a matter of the renters covering themselves. In fact, I was never at any time able to access wifi from the house and had to go into the yard to get a signal. When booking, please be aware that the smoke detector on the landing goes on every time you have a shower, necessitating standing on a chair at the head of the stairs to switch it off. The cottage is very well placed for visiting attractive local market town and the many historical sites in the area."

"Nice conversion but one clearly fitted/furnished to a minimum budget. Ground floor open plan, split between kitchen/dining area and lounge area. Kitchen appliances included fridge (had no freezer facility, however could use shared freezer across yard); washing m/c; oven with hob, extractor fan; microwave. A vacuum would have been welcome, even a sweeping brush, as normally we would clean each day, especially having two dogs. Likewise, was surprised that no iron had been provided. Lounge, which had FreeSat tv, opened to enclosed private lawn. Upstairs were two reasonably sized bedrooms, and a large bathroom which contained both bath and shower unit. Internet was available, albeit slow, via unsecured Stowfield network, although BT customers could often get a more reliable connection using owners BT-Fon facility. Overall the attractiveness of the cottage was spoilt somewhat by the number of items requiring maintenance although accept this was the end of what probably had been a busy season. The location was ideal, good dog walking areas on the doorstep, and much to see both locally and also in the Brecon Beacons. Owners, who lived in adjacent property, very helpful. In summary, despite cottage shortcomings, an enjoyable week was spent in an attractive part of the country."

"We really enjoyed our short break at S16316. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you will need and full of character.Arlingham is a very quiet village with the nearest local amenities in Frampton-on-Severn a few miles away. The Red Lion is a short walk up the lane and is community owned freehouse pub with a friendly welcome, excellent beer & wine and great food. Well worth a visit, we ate there three times! We found plenty to do in the area with easy walks along the banks of the Severn and the nearby canal network. There are plenty of Cotswold villages nearby if you want to venture further afield, we did.The friendly owners live on-site and apart from a brief introduction we didn't see them although we knew they were nearby if we needed help. Perfect hosts. We have no hesitation in recommending S16316, you won't be disappointed."

"We had a lovely time in the cottage, fantastic location and a delightful old building.Whilst we accept that buildings of a certain age come with a few cobwebs, we just felt the standards of cleanliness were low; largely due to so many personal items that just seemed to collect dust and ultimately made it difficult to clean. Towels were lovely and clean but bedsheets, sofa cushions, washing sponges smelt very used and unclean. Surfaces, cutlery and crockery needed a good wash before use due to food debris. As you will know from my record I have not complained about any previous properties having rented them from you for years, but I do this with the best of intentions as with a few tweaks I feel the owner could turn this property into something wonderful and ultimately a successful business."

"S16316 is set in a small hamlet surrounded by working farms. It feels beautifully cut-off yet Gloucester is within easy reach and some of the lovely Cotswolds villages also. There's a decent nearby pub and various others in the vicinity, but of varying quality.Walking is easy with 4 well marked trails around Arlingham and loads of opportunities further afield. The cottage itself is functional, clean and with all the requisite facilities. The downstairs, where the bedroom and shower are located, is a little dark and upstairs is lighter. We felt we really needed to get out to eat, rather than eat in, although if the weather had been warmer in the evening, we may have eaten outside.Overall, it is a good choice for complete unplugging and a simple break, immersed in nature."
