What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Gardens In Tavistock To Rent.
- Mr Lentjes, October 2018 - verified booking
"We very much enjoyed the silence and stillness around the house; the beautiful garden; the richness of fine walks onto any direction through quiet lanes, and into the fields. Easy walking distance to Chagford (appr. 25 min) made our stay perfect - being close to this dynamic Stannary Town, but also in a nice remote distance not to be constantly seduced to drink coffees or teas in the many tearooms and pubs around. Some people might see it a problem that the cottage hasn't got regular wifi and poor mobile signal. We thought it a good opportunity to mainly connect to nature - and, now and then, allow us to chat with the very friendly owners, Judy and Aubrey. For us, regaular visitors to the area for over 20-odd yrs, it has been a very good 2 weeks stay. Thank you."

"Very pleased with the overall standard of the cottage. Lovely place to stay with or without a dog. Lance and Nic have got it just right. Very friendly but not intrusive.I would definately recommend this cottage and would definately stay there again. Plenty of walks nearby with plenty of information supplied at the cottage. Lovely wetroom and a perfectly adequate kitchen catering for your every need.Lots of little extras which you might need. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely dog friendly pub next door. Good food and nice friendly landlord. Locals also very friendly. Peaceful location with no noise from the pub. Only downside is no local shop and narrow lanes to get to property. But this would not put us off going again. Highly recommend!!"

"I think the location is fantastic especially if you have children - as there were so many varieties of animals and you were allowed to feed them. However the welcome book made me feel uncomfortable - we were staying in her home (no, sorry, her business). Please take your shoes off and do not wear on the carpet in the bedroom. Strip the beds when you leave. I am sure that we would not have had washing up liquid if someone had not left some behind. There was no soap in the bathroom - I would have expected that at the least. Also no dishcloth!! I knew to take towels but there are certain other bare essentials all the other cottages we have stayed in have supplied. She was extremely friendly and welcoming in person but her handbook was not."

"The location was peaceful and relaxing, We received a welcome box of scones, jam and clotted cream together with a pannet of strawberries, which was very welcomed. The accommodation was bright and airy with plenty of space. It was also very clean.I would have liked a shelf or unit of some kind in the spacious bathroom, to place toiletries. Also, I would have liked a set of drawers in the bedroom to place smaller clothing that couldn't be hung. The kitchen was well equipped but I would have liked to have had some kind of coffee maker - a cafetière for example.Overall, a lovely relaxing break with some great walks on the spectacular moors and through some pretty forests."

"We had a very enjoyable week at The shepherds Hut, it is in a beautiful private location, with a Comfortable double pull down bed, a kitchen area that you can make a decent meal in, a bathroom with walk in shower, it has everything you need for a most pleasant stay, you can relax in a beautiful setting with woodland walks and if you are lucky you will even see deer in the woodland, or from the kitchen window as I did one morning while making tea. in the evening you can either relax by the fire, have a barbecue or just chill on the decked area by the pond. for supplies or a nice day out The town of Tavistock is only a 10 minute drive away. You wont want to go home."
