"Pro’s and cons to cabin 43. Location amazing, peaceful and even though at first it seems like your very close to lots of other cabins and worry about privacy it’s actually ok. Use of pool and spa facilities - just fabulous!! Sauna, steam room, tepidarium, ice room, foot spa, hydra pool, swimming pool - all included. Now the cabin itself.... if the picture you’ve seen shows cream coloured comfortable looking sofas - it’s a lie! There are 3 square style black sofas - the most uncomfortable ones ever for sitting around as a family chatting. The bedrooms all have an awful smell - not sure if it’s the carpets or the mattresses? Difficult to sleep with that smell. You have to look after the hot tub yourself adding chemicals as and when required, the hot tub light doesn’t work, the outside light is broken, many indoor bulbs have gone and not been replaced, I had to (believe it or not) vacuum the walls before we could sleep due to the amount of dust that had accumulated over time between the wooden slats and the cobwebs all over the walls. I spent my first hour or so cleaning before we could relax. If cheap is what you’re after this is perfect. Clearly either they don’t have regular cleaners between guests or they can’t be bothered to do a good job. I would return to the location in a flash but never to cabin 43. The smell when you’re lying in bed is awful!"

"Excellent house in a fantastic location. Very warm and comfortable. The local people were extremely friendly and every dog walk along the prom and beach took a lot longer due to chatting to all the locals out with their dogs, made the dog walking even more pleasurable. The local lifeboat station is situated nearby and it was also interesting watching them launching on a training session which takes place every week. The house was extremely clean and nicely decorated and welcoming. My only slight criticism is a lack of furniture in the bedrooms. Only one of the 3 bedrooms had a wardrobe. One just had a double bed, a dressing table with 2 small drawers and a foldable bedside table. The small box room only had a single bed with a bedside table with 2 drawers (the bedside table however was not next to the bed but on the opposite wall next to a wall socket). There was also a lack of pans in the kitchen. But these criticisms in no way spoilt our enjoyment of the house and we would be more than happy to return in future."

"This is a very unusual holiday experience; driving into a dark yew-shaded churchyard to be faced by rows of gravestones, and stumbling into the nave of a church is not the standard holiday cottage! However the conversion is sympathetic, and the 'cottage' is well equipped and comfortable. The drawbacks are implicit in the setup - basically it is one large room, with two large solid balconies with beds etc on each. The kitchen is in the former chancel area, sitting area in the middle and dining at the near end of the nave, as is the bathroom. Everything is solid and quite appropriate, although standing on a memorial stone while doing the washing up takes adjustment. It's a really lovely location, apple trees behind the church and a pond, sitting areas. The farm next door is not obtrusive, and the Old Rectory is close enough if one needs it but not bang on the doorstep. It's very quiet."

"we were informed on arrival that there was no curtain rail on the side of the bath but it would be fixed Saturday , after three phone calls and numerous txts and promises it would be fixed as we had a disabled person with us it was'nt , it was even suggested we should put towels on the floor to soak up the water, we had problems with the toilet not flushing properly and the sink in the bathroom would'nt hold water (there was no point in mentioning that because if we could'nt get the shower curtain fixed we were not going to get that done, the kitchen needed a good clean and fridge was filthy, in the living room we had to clean the inside of the window where dogs had been, for the amount of money we payed i would of expected better all in all the whole experience spoiled our holiday"

"Great location. Lodge site is peaceful & set in a forest area. Lodge 43 is lovely, let down by its cleanliness. The hot tub was wonderful, took a while to regulate the chemicals though. The sofas in the living area are not comfortable to sit on for any length of time as they do not offer back & neck support. We was worried about comments on previous reviews about the damp smell. I’m pleased to say we didn’t encounter it. We did put the light on each time we showered which in turn put the extractor fan on & also had the windows open on occasions. We thought check in time of 4pm was too late. The first day of your holiday has gone before you could get in. All in all a lovely lodge, we used it as a base to explore the area. Would recommend it but hope the cleaners do a better job."
