Dunvegan is known for its impressive castle. It is set within a 42,000 acre estate and well worth a visit while you’re here. Skye is well known for its breathtaking and unspoilt views. The famous Fairy Pools and Old Man of Storr, can both be reached in under an hour from Dunvegan. There are plenty of walks to enjoy nearby as well, and make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the wildlife that calls this island its home.

"What a magical stay! We visited the Cabin for a week in late October and found everything we needed for a peaceful yet luxurious week away. The Cabin is very well equipped and has everything one would need...the views are just gorgeous and with the log burner and the fabulous heating, I can't imagine it ever feeling less than cosy here, even in the harsh winter weather! The bed is very comfortable and the shower a dream! The kitchen has everything you could need and everything is brand new given the newness of the Cabin. There is so much to see and do locally and with easy access right across the island...the Cabin makes for a wonderful base to explore! The only constructive comment I would make is that a few pictures added to the walls to remind visitors of the beauty of Skye and perhaps a notice board to advertise local markets, craft stores and restaurants wouldn't go a miss to add that homely feel. But given the newness of the Cabin these may be added in time...and in the meantime, you can just open the door, take a deep breath and admire the views in your slippers! We'll definitely be back...for longer we hope as we've fallen in love with the island and we couldn't imagine a better, more comfortable, private and peaceful place to stay! Thank you Mairi & Alisdair!"

"Beautiful setting and amazing views, from all windows of the water and mountains, ever changing. Very Clean and welcoming. The bathroom was amazing, shower was large and lovely. Lovely well equipped cottage, good quality kitchen and equipment, which was huge. Our Host was very accomodating, lovely lady. Any problems we had were swiftly dealt with. (the bulbs blew in the lounge light, tv didn't work very well, could only get 1 channel) The bed was a bit saggy and very creaky, we didn't sleep at all well. There is a flat above this which can be very noisy as their bed was creaky too and we could hear them whenever they moved about. Not too much of a problem except at night when it seemed loud. Close to the village, an easy walk down and good places to visit nearby.S85565 is spacious, very well appointed and in the most perfect location to enjoy a holiday on Skye. The view from the lounge window, of MacLeod's table, is stunning. There is a post office, an excellent restaurant (Old School), the village bakery and the village store within a few yards of the entrance. Dunvegan castle is only a short walk away. The only slight minus point is that there were people living in the flat above which created a little noise, but this was not really a problem."

"Just returned home from a fantastic stay at Angie's home. We travelled with extended family and stayed for a week. On arrival we were blown away with the size of the villa. The entry through the huge laundry and drying room leads into a massive open plan kitchen, dinning and lounge area with views leading to Dunvegan. Leading off the open plan area is a great formal lounge with wood burner. We also made lots of use of the awesome hot tub. Some minor items that we suggest would improve the villa and make an 5 out of 5 stay a 6 out of 5. 1. Convert the downstairs bedroom from a twin to a double master with access to the main bathroom 2. Make sure that small vanity items are provided - soaps, shampoo etc. 3. Provide detailed instructions for the central heating and hot tub. Finally a few comments on things that we found a little frustrating 1. With 8 people, 6 of them end up sharing a small shower room, with sloped ceilings and a tiny sink. 2. Some basic items are missing - no washing up cloths, no dishwasher tablets, no brush for sweeping the kitchen floor - would have expected this when paying over £1,000 a week! Please don't read this items as negatives, the location, facility and home is simply outstanding. We will be back...."

"Amenities provided were insufficient and of poor quality - for example, there was only a low quality bar soap for showers and no shampoo, and some towels were evidently old and dropping fibres. Supplies were lacking sorely - no coffee machine, and not even any packet coffee! Instead there was a barely filled jar of old and dubious-looking coffee powder which we did not dare to drink. Bed sheets and headboards looked dusty and had small clumps of dust; pillows were flat. The whole apartment had a dirty feel to it! Water flow in the toilets were very poor, sometimes with no water supply at all. Location was also poor, as it was located 20-30 minutes away from Portree town, which was where most shops and food were located. Overall disappointing as these little things made our stay less than ideal and uhncomfortable. The only positive thing was that it was a very large cottage with lots of room and facilities like TVs, couches and many DVDs and books for use. Rooms had colour themes which looked nice and bright."
