If you’re looking for clean, family friendly beaches there is no shortage here. If you’re looking for some beach fun with you dog, you’re in luck; many of Norfolk’s beaches are also dog friendly. Even if you don’t love the beach chances are Norfolk’s coast has something for you; at Cromer, you’ll find an end of pier theatre or you could try some of Norfolk’s finest seafood. "S80664 was spotlessly clean. Couldn’t find fault with that aspect at all. We loved the cows directly behind the house on the farm & it was lovely to wake up to cows mooing and cockerels crowing, so totally different to home. There are no amenities in the village, except the pub, so you have to travel to nearby Martham for any shops etc. We felt that the kitchen wasn’t equipped enough for the maximum number of people, with only 4 side plates, dinner plates, bowls, mugs, glasses etc & only two saucepans, one frying pan & one glass ovenproof dish. You couldn’t easily cook a meal there if you were staying for a while. We were only there for breakfast, as we went out to eat the rest of the time, so it didn’t matter too much. In addition the double bed was really hard and uncomfortable, although for somebody else it may be fine, but there were no spare pillows or blankets should you need them. One of the biggest drawbacks is the parking & getting up and down the narrow lane to the property, especially as you have to reverse the length of the road in order to get the car parked on the hard standing directly in front of the property. If you had a big car or one that is very long you would struggle."

"Really enjoyed our stay at ‘S81185’ The weather was fabulous which made our holiday very relaxing, particularly enjoying the veranda and balcony of the South facing property. We found this accommodation a good base to explore Norfolk, and travelled to Southwold, Wroxham( for a fantastic 2 hour boat trip), Horsey beach, Cromer, Sheringham, Aylsham and of course Great Yarmouth. We found that The Priory restaurant which is just down the road was great for a good meal in quirky surroundings. Seems very popular place which would need to be booked in advance at weekends.Just nearby the lodge is the Redwings horse sanctuary which is well worth a visit, in order to see how well the horses and donkeys are looked after and the opportunity to walk round ( no admission cost) and support the wonderful work there. There were no immediate shops nearby but we ordered our shopping online from Tesco’s in Great Yarmouth and it was delivered successfully at the start of our holiday.Would definitely recommend especially good for golfers who have access to the course on your doorstep!"

"Lovely clean cottage, bright and cheerful. For people interested in self catering, the kitchen has a large fridge and cooker but only very basic equipment. Lack of a frying pan meant no full englishfor the other half. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well, although the sofa in the living room left a bit to be desired, watching T.V. and relaxing in the evening was uncomfortable. As advertised, there were walks from the cottage door, lovely for dog walkers, also there were dog towels supplied for anyone who had forgotten their own. This cottage is an ideal base for those who want to go out and explore all the time. However, parking can be awkward for the larger car owner, but we managed. Another thing that we found was that, at times, the heavy farm machinery in the farmyard behind the cottage became obtrusive, especially as the windows and doors were open in the hot weather ."

"The cottage is compact and well equipped. We were four adults accustomed to our own space so would have found it a bit too "cosy" if there had been seven of us. We stayed during the very cold snap in March and the cottage was very warm and cosy. We hardly used the lovely log burner. The "welcome pack" included basics such as eggs, milk and bread as well as treats. All the basic household items such as dishwasher and washing machine tablets were provided, which we knew before we left home, from a pre-visit telephone conversation. We didn't need to visit a supermarket all week as there are brilliant specialist shops in Sherringham and Cley. Friendly pub in the local village for meals out. Sherringham Park within walking distance. Lovely bracing walking along the cliffs and a great base to explore North East Norfolk."

"Fabulous lodge in a beautiful location, the owners have thought of just about everything, fabulously comfortable beds, lovely fluffy towels, all the kitchen equipment you need and of course the added bonus of a hot tub. The TV is a bit hit and miss, which we needed as were unfortunate with the weather but we took our Amazon Prime stick which meant we could watch it easily when required. We didn't find much in the immediate vicinity which we could walk to (the poor weather, visibility and dark evenings out stop to that) but am sure in the summer it would be a different situation all together. You do need a car to nip out for supplies or to get to a pub or restaurant, Yarmouth is approx. 15/20 mins drive away.We will definitely try to return again."
