"We descended on the Old Queens Manor for a long weekend in October to celebrate my Mother-In-Law's 60th Birthday. There were 10 adults and two toddlers. It took us a while to find somewhere suitable as we wanted somewhere that was special and also big enough for us all to enjoy, and boy did the Old Queens Manor deliver. The house and it's grounds are stunning!! Starting with the house, it has everything you could wish for to make your stay comfortable. It was beautifully maintained and fully equipped. You can tell it is a house that was/is very much loved as it holds a lot of charm whilst also feeling modern at the same time. For such a big house it was surprisingly cosy and I think we all could've quite happily lived there! The grounds were beautiful and every bit was utilised. We had tennis and table tennis matches going on between the adults and the toddlers loved running around the expansive gardens seeing what treasures they could find. Whilst staying at the rectory we went for a looped walk direct from the house out to the Severn and back. A nice little walk with a pub stop in the middle (well it'd be rude not to!) We also went for Sunday lunch at The Anchor in the village which was excellent. Decent sized portions too! Jane, the owner, is superb and my only regret is that I didn't get to meet her in the end to say hello personally. Great communication throughout the whole booking process and she really went the extra mile to make sure that you were enjoying your stay and had everything you needed."

"We stayed at Old Queen's Manor in early August 2016. It was a family holiday where three generations were able to meet up and spend a week together. As we are spread around the country this rarely happens. Jane was there to greet us and gave us some key information about the property and some 'house rules'. This was all delivered in a gentle, friendly manner and was very helpful - particularly the information on how to use the Aga since most of us had never cooked on an Aga before. The facilities were superb and we made use of all that was on offer: pool, tennis courts, croquet, swing, table tennis etc. We were blessed with glorious weather for most of the week. We also took advantage of the recommended 'in house' catering one evening which made for a relaxing evening for all the family. All in all this was a fantastic holiday destination. A true family holiday."

"We stayed with our young adult sons who loved the tennis court. They managed to play even in-between rain showers. The views and sense of space both inside and outside the property made for an especially relaxing stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and we hosted a Sunday lunch in the lovely dining room with ease and making good use of the Aga. We made use of the excellent DVD collection and the games cupboard. We had taken our own books but spotted many good reads in the house. Locally the walks and the pubs were excellent. Although it was very muddy the boot room and utility by the back door meant that we could keep the rest of the house clean. Our small dog got used to going straight to the sink for a rinse. We can imagine that in the summer the pool would add even more delight to any holiday in this wonderful house."

"Beautiful grade II listed building lovingly maintained and upgraded. Perfectly situated to visit Bath and the Cotswolds, which we did during our stay. Near the Cotswolds Way walking path which my husband and children shared their hike with cows. The house is very spacious and nicely decorated. We found ourselves around the table in the kitchen the most! What a lovely room. Warm and toasty from the AGA range. Table overlooks a huge French door that opens to the garden. The gardens are spectacular. We enjoyed the wisteria, irises, peonies. The views from the rear of the house are unbelievable. Quintessential English country house. Don’t hesitate to book this house! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us."

"Wonderful home from home, well equipped property and the owner had thought of everything down to some milk in the fridge and freshly home baked cake waiting for us on arrival. Great location with a very good fish and chip shop, chinese and Indian restaurant very nearby. The property was spacious and clean and located far enough out of bristol to maintain a quiet village feel whilst close enough to easily visit many wonderful activities and day trip locations. Sykes cottage make for a professional and efficient booking agent keeping me very well informed throughout, I recommend downloading their app too. Great holiday all round, thanks so much."
