"We had a wonderful two weeks in Stabal Pant Glas. It's a beautiful converted stable (as the name may suggest!), which has been lovingly converted into a comfortable home from home on a working sheep and cattle farm. It's exceptionally spacious - lots of cupboards in the well-equipped kitchen, a nice big lounge with comfortable seating, comfortable beds in large bedrooms (the main bedroom with the four poster bed is enormous!), and a lovely bathroom with a fantastic shower. It's set in picturesque surroundings - rolling hills and green fields as far as the eye can see, but is exceptionally accessible, being just off the A5 a few miles from Betws-y-Coed and less than an hour from the coast. Our hosts Meilir and Awel were so friendly and welcoming, and were more than happy to recommend places for days out as well as showing us around the farm and taking time to explain what was happening on the farm. We were lucky enough to arrive as the sheep were being sheared, which was fascinating to watch, and Mei was also kind enough to let us watch while the sheep were branded, while their teeth were checked and while he was sorting them to take some to market and some to rough grazing for a few months, as well as talking us through his activities on the farm. The evenings were the best - beautiful sunsets, long walks along the farm tracks listening to the sheep baaing, the cattle lowing, the owls hooting and watching the bats darting around catching insects. We will return to Stabal Pant Glas, and would happily recommend it to anyone!"

"The cottage was just what we wanted, a romantic hideaway for our wedding anniversary, very clean, everything we needed was there, they even found us an ice bucket for our bubbly! The owners were very friendly and helpful. The locals are friendly when you see them, which is not very often, which is nice if you want the privacy, which we did. Betws y Coed has the most fantastic places to eat, not cheap, but not over priced if you go to the right places. The owners and locals will recommend the best places, taxi service was great but make sure you get the local one from Betws Y Coed, they are great and very reasonable, there is only one firm based there. The other taxi firms are from further afield and charge extra for coming out to the village. All in all a fabulous weekend!!! The only quibble we had was the floorboards outside the bathroom were a bit flimsy and bouncy, but we just got used to stepping over them, and in the living area they have two very comfy chairs, we would have preferred a two seater sofa to snuggle up on, in front of the fabulous fireplace with log burner! Will definately stay again!!! Wonderful!!! Plenty of activities too with mountain bike trail just around the corner."

"We were very disappointed with Castiel Cottage. The standard of cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The bed linen was awful. The pillow cases were all grubby with a brown tinge and black spots of unknown origin. The sheets were also grubby with black marks and had hairs on them when we arrived. We needed to wash the bed linen which is not a task we expect to perform on holiday. Underneath the dining table were scraps of food which we had to vacuum soon after arrival.Had we known about the low doorway between the kitchen and toilet/bathroom we would not have booked the cottage.Putting warning notices above the door are not sufficient. Why are the steps in the patio area mentioned in the cottages description but the low door is not? The hazard is made worse by the high step under the doorway.I'm 6 ft 2 in tall and have diseased/degenerate discs which make bending uncomfortable and best avoided but the requirement to use the bathroom/toilet made it unavoidable.A notice displayed on the cottage window had a 3 star rating by the English Tourist Board and we'd be interested to know how a cottage in Wales came to get a rating by the ETB?We do expect good standards of cleanliness."

"We have just come back from a 4 night stay at pant teg. Had a wonderful holiday there. We were greeted with one of the best welcome packs we have had which was a lovely touch. The cottage is comfortable and clean and has everything you could possibly need in there.it is a great location close enough drive to plenty of walks and attractions. Unfortunately our car broke down whilst we were there and as there were no taxis available and the buses stopped running Yvonne was kind enough to pick us up and take us back to the cottage, even though she was an hour away herself. We couldn't thank her enough as it was getting late and we had our baby and toddler with us. Nothing seemed too much trouble for her she is a wonderful host. Our 4 year old said it was the best holiday he's had and we would definately recommend it. Thankyou for a lovely holiday and we will be back!"

"The cottage is ideally located for the numerous activities that Snowdonia has to offer. Being a short drive from the thriving village of Llanrwst, with many amenities such as shops, pubs and restaurants but also positioned in a rural setting is a great balance. The views from the property are stunning and the garden is a nice space to unwind or play games in. With a little more attention to detail this property could be simply perfect - some of the kitchen equipment is of poor quality and showing its age, a few cupboard doors have dropped and there are cracked floor tiles in the living area, kitchen and bathroom. However, this did not detract seriously from our experience of this property. We tend not to return to places a second time but this would not prevent us from recommending this property to others."
