What our customers say about their holidays

    • Emma - Verified booking

Had such an amazing time at Glyndwr Bach.

We only saw one of the hosts, but he was so kind and accommodating. The place was clean and cosy, we especially loved the under floor heating on the ground floor. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, please be mindful kitchen doesn't have an oven but you could always bring a small airfryer there is space on work surface. We looked up microwave instructions online and it does have cooking functions. Glyndwr Bach was very clean only thing we noticed was some slight mold/staining in bathroom fan but otherwise very clean. The area is lovely we enjoyed walking into Betws-y-coed in the evenings for dinner and we went on several walks around the surrounding area which are well maintained. A short drive to Yr Wyddfa, location is really perfect. It's worth stocking up on essentials before you arrive as local Spar/Londis are expensive and fairly limited as only small shops. We went to an Aldi on the A38 about 55 minutes away on the way in. We are so sorry about the dragon and for taking awhile to review.

What can I say except this place is a delight! The pictures online of the property and of the views do it no justice, it has to be seen in person. Upon arrival, we were met by the owner, who is lovely! She showed us how a few things worked and was very helpful. The property itself is beautiful, and I could not think of a single thing I didn't like! It sleeps at least 6, with two double en suite rooms and an en suite with 2 single beds. Fully functional and lovely open plan kitchen and living area. The balcony gives incredible views, absiktely sublime! There is a hot tub, bbq, table and chairs. The view though is something else! The hot tub overlooks the mountains and with a glass of champagne is perfect. Close to amenities, several villages and towns and is ideal for hiking then relaxing when back. I can honestly say this is one of the nicest places I've stayed anywhere in the world. Would highly, highly recommend.

Craigside Holiday Cottage is a nice place for a break.

It's close to shops, cafes, and fun things to do. The house gets warm fast when you turn on the heat, which is great. The bedrooms are big, the beds are comfy, and there's plenty of room to store clothing and items. The bathroom is also good. It has a wet room and a nice shower. But, the cottage could be better. It needs a good clean. There are crumbs under the dining table, the bathroom cabinet is dirty, there are cobwebs throughout the property, and the kitchen tools like the chopping board are not clean. There's also mould in almost every room, some kitchen tools are melted, and some glasses are chipped. The cottage feels old and worn out (tired). It would be good to have hooks near the hot tub to hang towels. Overall, Craigside Holiday Cottage has some good points, but it needs some work to make it really nice for guests. With a bit of cleaning and fixing, it could be a great place to stay.

We found this the perfect location for us not too far from places we wanted to visit and Betwsy d coed is a beautiful little village with some lovely eateries.

Wales is quite expensive for eating out but its choice as you can eat in if you want to cook your own food. A really nice touch with the welcome hamper left for us. My partner is 6 foot tall and banged his quite often on the bedroom ceiling and staircase so be careful. It gave me a few laughs. We loved the hot tub but it can be a problem with midges around the water. My partner got bitten really badly and looked like he had measles. Would be a good idea to tell guests to bring insect repellent or even provide this. The bed was very noisy when turning over in the night due to loose bolts at the bottom. And the bathroom door was very squeeky which could do with sorting. Could do with another toilet roll leaving as two for a week isn't really enough. However these minor things would not stop us staying again, they are just an honest review of our time here. Lovely place thankyou Lucy and Gari

This is a lovely house, only a short distance from restaurants, shops, and pubs, with great walks from the front door up into the woods and lake behind.

And you can hear a waterfall from the house, which is lovely, but otherwise it is really quiet even with front windows open. The property itself is exactly as advertised, very warm and comfortable and very clean, with everything you could need in the kitchen, including a massive Rangemaster cooker. It suited our mixed age-group family perfectly. We are used to keeping our two spaniels close by when using the hot-tub or garden, so the fact that there was no fully enclosed space to the rear wasn't a problem for us, but others might want to take a pet barrier just for peace of mind. The comments in another review about the untidy garden adjacent are accurate, but as this is only visible from an upstairs window, it did not diminish our enjoyment of Craigside in any way. We plan to return, perhaps when the weather is warm enough to enjoy having breakfast in the big garden!
