"We have stayed in nearly 20 cottages in the UK from Northumberland to Dorset. Without doubt the one in the most attractive & enjoyable setting is S41686 in Worcestershire near Tenbury Wells.S41686 is a three-bedroomed cottage surrounded by 7 acres of grounds. Occupants have free access to all that space including play areas, woodland, pond, tree house, a "bothy" (farm labourer's hut) and hammocks. There are four or five outdoor seating areas and a barbecue. There is a quirky, highly personal feel to the surroundings reflecting the labour of love that the property obviously is.Indoors, on the ground floor, the cottage features a well-equipped kitchen (including an Aga), six- seater dining area, a very comfortable living room and a comfortable double bedroom. There is a bathroom including a bath and separate shower. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, twin room and (tiny) toilet. Each room continues the individualistic theme of the entire site.S41686 cottage housed 5 people (and a terrier!) very comfortably and warmly. We were welcomed personally by the owner Eleanor with a smile and a welcome hamper including a delicious home-made cake. But the real emphasis-and the reason I would unhesitatingly recommend S41686, is the beautiful surroundings . Long Cottage is almost half a mile off any road. It is very isolated and commands a panoramic view of the beautiful local countryside. If you want hustle & bustle I suggest you look elsewhere! You are however within twenty-odd miles of Hereford, Worcester, Hay-on-Wye, Leominster and Ludlow. Tenbury Wells and Eastnor Castle are much nearer. Our party included two teenagers and within 15 miles drive we were able to take them to West Midlands Safari Park and the Time Machine Museum in nearby Bromyard. The ground floor bedroom was ideal for the 87 year old in the party. We were not blessed with good weather or we would have undoubtedly spent more time in the grounds. To prove how much we liked the place, we have already booked a return visit- less that a week after leaving! Do yourselves a favour- visit S41686 before it gets too famous. You won't regret it!"

"This was a beautiful house with all the usual quality that you expect from RR. However, I think there were a couple of things that could have been clearer in the property description: the gardens/grounds are shared with the owners who are right next door and they have children who play ball games and run around. We had no problem with this but some people might have wanted something more peaceful. Secondly, the upstairs toilet is really tiny and a man can't really use it without contorting himself. Even I had to 'fold myself' into it! The bedrooms upstairs have very sloping ceilings, making them also quite uncomfortable for tall people. We were only four people from the same family but I think six would have been a bit cramped given the bathroom facilities. The owner was very friendly and greeted us with cake. The terrace is great for barbecues and the views are truly spectacular though so we had a good time."

"This property was described as being set in an area of "Common Land", and indicated a peaceful and tranquil country setting. In fact - 8 feet from the wall of the house was a B road that that could only be described as a rat run at certain times of the day - from around 6.00 am to 8.00 am and again in the evening - cars, lorries and other vehicles thundering past the property. Could not avoid the noise or the impact of the headlights on the walls of the bedrooms. The interior photos on the website make the property look light and spacious - look carefully - every ceiling light and table light is on to enhance the lighting. In fact - the property is 300 years old and has small windows appropriate to that era. And upstairs - you need to walk with a stoop if you are 6Ft tall or over. However - superb location for exploring and walking the Malvern Hills which are nothing short of spetacular."

"Wifi doesn't really work and no phone signal. Might be bliss for some, but I needed to do a bit of work and found it a bit painful. Creaky floorboards are characterful to start with, but quickly loose their fun. Impossible to sneak to the toilet in the night. Well equipped generally. Great enclosed garden. Couple of nice touches but found sitting in sofas in the lounge not particularly comfy. Great for our dog. Milk in the fridge and some lovely cupcakes when we arrived. Stairs are tricky and slippy with socks on. Very tight upstairs (I'm 6ft 2in). Smoke alarm in the kitchen is a nightmare. You can't open the over without anything even in it without setting it off. This needs looking at. We set it off twice a day without trying !"

"We had a fantastic holiday at S2656. The location was lovely, I like to go jogging and going through the village was beautiful, then straight out into the countryside in all directions, so much to explore! It really was a new and exciting jog every morning. The interior of the cottage/house was beautiful, lots of lovely beams, it had been done up so nicely. It had everything we needed as well as some lovely added extra welcome gifts, which made the stay even more enjoyable! The living room was lovely and cosy. We took our 8 month old baby who is not crawling yet and the place was great for him. I highly recommend the Cotswolds for a holiday and this rental accommodation makes a perfect base for exploring the region."
