"House itself is adequate and it is in a quiet location, garden is nice with bird feeders and even saw a red squirrel feeding after filling the feeders. The property is sadly let down by the owners lack of attention to major faults although reminded many times by previous tenants. On arrival we had to trudge our belongings through the back door as the key for the front door is partly broken, this is the main exit and obviously a fire hazard as it couldn't be opened easily. Also fire related is the overuse of extension leads my grandson's room had one squashed tight against the bed which could have caused overheating, house needs a fire inspection asap. The toilet seat in the main bathroom is broken and bath in the main bathroom is unusable as the bathplug is about 3 times smaller than the hole!! My daughter was looking for a relaxing soak during the week but no luck!! No information on bin collections at all. Kitchen is good size but sadly lacking in basic equipment, house is for 6 people but only 3 cereal bowls, microwave but no microwavable bowls, no ovenware (serving dishes, casseroles or baking trays) although a phone call resulted in a delivery of some plastic boxes? , metal baking trays and casseroles on Wednesday. Neighbours we spoke to said they were inundated with tenants complaints about the property and the lack of concern shown by the house owners. Not impressed by the owners who appear to ignore repeated comments showing what is required."

"This house is almost a great choice. Unfortunately it is in need of attention. Numerous minor maintenance issues which should be addressed including; no description of where to find the key-safe, loose/malfunctioning door handles and locks, light bulbs not working, one bedroom heater not working, one double mattress long past it's best, no battery in the wall clock, no instructions for generating hot water- all small things which are easy fixes and make a difference. The stairs and upstairs floors were very creaky and noisy. The first person up in the house will wake everyone else immediately. Don't know how it could be fixed but it is a pain when you have young kids. The bigger issue for us was that the house was cold throughout our 3 day stay. Even with all additional heaters switched on, the downstairs never got above 17 degrees and was often less. It seems that there is little or no insulation and a dated, uneconomical and ineffective heating system. The external doors and windows are rotting, draughty and need replaced. The upstairs did warm up enough for the kids but we sat each night downstairs with jackets and/or blankets. In spring/summer/autumn it is probably not an issue but we were visiting for skiing, the outside temp was around -5 to 0 degrees and the house just isn't able to combat those conditions. We live in the highlands and are used to the weather, our own house isn't very warm."

"We enjoyed our stay and the accommodation and location was good. However the house was lacking the little things we would have expected in self catering. We had to buy our own baking trays for cooking in the oven. There were no dishwasher tablets, bin liners etc and there were only two wine glasses. Small things I know. Also the floor in the lounge was filthy under the sofas and we had two toddlers who played on the floor and their toys kept going under the furniture and coming out covered in dust and fluff. Lastly, the outside general and recycle bin were both overflowing when we arrived on Friday and no information anywhere about what to do with them. I phoned the caretaker, who I incidentally, found very helpful. She thought they were collected on the Monday. By that time we had lots of rubbish of our own to add to the bins and had to leave out in bags. Needless to say, animals had got at them and the neighbours were not happy with the mess everywhere. I do not think new guests should arrive to overflowing bins and have to tidy up other peoples' rubbish when on holiday.Despite all this it was a good holiday."

"Great house in a quiet location. Not very clear what you get with things like the spa, assumed it had all the bells and whistles, contacted number given when discovered lights didn't work in spa and was told they would contact the owner, never heard another thing despite being there a week.Advertisement said there was a phone, for a whole week we looked for this mysterious phone! On the day we were leaving after a week it was found in a bedroom drawer but with no connection cable! Would definitely recommend a guard which goes round the whole hearth of the fire as dangerous if a young child falls on it. The area is great if your a mountaineer or hillwalker, if not then book somewhere in Inverness as you will be back and forward there. Definite visit is the Landmark centre but choose a nice day. All in all, a nice quiet house but communication needs to improve slightly."

"We had a family holiday at S22690 and we had a fabulous time! The lodge was more than perfect and well equipped with a lot of nice little touches. The garden at the back was great for the kids to run around with beautiful views of the Forrest where we could see wildlife. The hot tub was amazing for the family to enjoy. There was terrific space in the lodge, very comfortable and well laid out.The key safe was a great idea as it aloud everyone to go out but not worry who had the keys. The surrounding area was beautiful. Fabulous views from the from the front of the house, especially the mid floor living room. There were many trail walks (kids and dog thoroughly enjoyed) with a short walk (approx15 min)Our children also loved the park that was just a few minutes walk across the road, can’t wait to visit again 😊"
