Achmelvich Bay is a particularly popular spot, especially in the summer. With white sand and clear waters, this is a great place for water sports including windsurfing and kayaking. In the winter it’s well suited to a bracing walk while soaking up the fresh sea air. Dogs are only allowed on the beach outside of peak season. This is a simply stunning place to visit.

"The house has two seating areas outside, a bench and a table, which can be used at different times of day, depending on wind and sun. We spend several hours every day just sitting out on that bench outside the house (which freakishly never seems to be in the wind or rain), just looking at the view, the sea, watching out for dolphins and seals, because it was just so incredibly peaceful and beautiful. In our views were also the newborn lambs, which were a joy to see every day. Our dog unfortunately likes sheep a little too much, so we kept her on the lead a lot of the time, but it wasn't really a problem, because she was just sleeping in the sun whilst we were sitting on the bench. It was a great place to travel from, and we went up An Teallach, had a walk down to the Shenavall bothy and had very lovely to Loch na Sealga. The beaches in the area are also incredible, although it pays off to keep an eye on the waterline from the house (which is useful if you don't have a newspaper with the tide times, because especially the Gruinard Bay beach shrinks quite a bit during high tide, but is still beautiful. We saw a fairly big group of seals (about 8) there coming in with the tide on our last day and it was fantastic. Another lovely beach is just a little further down the road in Mellon Udrigle, which has sand that's even more white than Gruinard beach. As for the house, it has everything, absolutely everything you could want. We even baked a cake when we were there, not fully expecting to find cake tins. The dishwasher was heaven-sent, especially after long hikes and was much appreciated. In the living room there was some wood already there to be used in the stove, which is lovely in the evenings. Honestly, we could not recommend a nicer house for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings in perfect comfort, and we will definitely come back."

"They were not really set up for people wanting to have a 2 week holiday. I would have liked an extra set of sheets to change after 1st week. Arrived at around 5pm it was freezing no heating on.The previous holidayer had reported on the 16/11 in the maintenance book that the bulb had blown in the bathroom, we arrived on the 24th the light still did not work. Not sure what was the point of the book if it is not checked and actioned upon? If they say that you get x y z per week then they should have supplied x y z x2 for the 2 week holiday. There are 3 Beaches that are beautiful. Seals in the sea. Lots of Stags and Doe in the local areas. Scenic views are just breathtaking. Lots of walking to be done. It rained a lot and was very windy. The fire in the property was a welcomed pleasure as you didn’t need to clean it out each day like normal fires. The integrated fridge door kept opening, realised that it had the wrong hinges on, for some reason it has soft closing hinges these needs changes to standard hinges. And it needs venting in the plinth to stop the compressor over heating. Nice size kitchen. Property bigger than it looks from looking at it from the road. One Sofa Comfy other not so."

"S104258 whilst petite was immaculately presented and clean and had everything a couple could wish for. There was much attention to detail and the owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They had provided all the essentials but also some delicious local and home grown produce including eggs from their own hens, bread, honey from their own bees and tablet, biscuits, etc. Also a bunch of flowers that lasted all week and a lovely card. All this made us feel special and welcome. Aultbea was also an excellent base for a holiday with lots of beaches, sight-seeing sights and good for walking, cycling, golf & fishing. The Aultbea Hotel which provided meals was only a 5 min walk from the house. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation and destination."

"Mellondale was just as we anticipated having stayed there last year. As always no matter where you go the second visit enables you to explore the surroundings and find what you missed the first time, this was no exception! The bungalow was magnificently presented which gave us a feeling of being at home but with spectacular views not seen around our part of the country. No matter what we did, where we went the welcome and friendliness of the local people was incredible which only enhanced our opinions of the area If we have the opportunity to visit a third time the answer would have to be "You Betcha", as apart from a wonderful part of the British Isles the holiday was truly relaxing and enjoyable!"

"Perfect stay in 'S104258'. This place is even better than the pictures, it had everything we needed and more (We were slightly worried about cooking in a small kitchen but when we got there it was more than enough). The area is beautiful, there is plenty to do and the scenery is breath taking. The hosts were wonderful, when we arrived after a 12 hour car journey there was a welcome package with bread, shortbread, eggs (from their own chickens) and even honey (from there own bees!), they were so helpful all throughout the week, even when we had trouble with our car. A highlight for us was defiantly being offered the chance to go and look at their bee's, it was an incredible experience. Thank you for everything!"
