"We have stayed in numerous self catering places over the years. This one looked very nice on first impressions but as we realised there were some basics missing. No bucket, washing up bowl, broom or dustpan and brush to help keep things clean. No cleaning products to help keep things clean. No welcome tray of tea or coffee with small milk which after a long journey before stocking up is nice touch. No pepper or salt. The amount of crockery available meant the dishwasher was uneconomical to use so we washed up by hand as normal to us, but the one poor j cloth was struggling. We bought dishcloths and washing up liquid. Only two tea towels so a job to keep them clean and dry and no ovenglove. We had to buy one. As the location is so remote finding some things not straight forward. As lodge remote cooking in was vital. You couldn't just go out for meals. On the positive. Bed very comfortable, shower nice, hot tub lovely. Location a dream with river and wildlife."

"You wouldn't believe the A2 and a major supermarket were 5 minutes drive away. Perfect for us family of five and after a busy day exploring the Kent countryside (there is so much to discover) relaxing to come back to and just veg out in comfort while the kids argue as they play billiards and throw darts at the dartboard. The owner is exceptionally hospitable and with a well equipped kitchen (even has a dishwasher!!!!!) I cannot recommend this cottage as a base for exploring this part of Kent enough. He even gave us the name of a pub serving exceptionally good value for money meals....The Chance Inn. Certainly one to revisit when we invade this part of England again!"

"!! Now that is something that can't be said very often. Both my husband and I loved every minute of our stay in Kent, the visit to Canterbury Cathedral - twice, plus the wonderful day exploring Dover Castle are just two of our cherished memories, we just didn't have time to do everything we would so dearly have loved to do and really can't wait to return. Living in Germany, but English by birth, we are amazed at the amount of places in our own Country that we have not seen, but one thing is for sure, Kent nor this beautiful cottage and Ian our wonderful host have not seen the last of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"As these are Autograph lodges I'd expect standards to be impeccable. However cleanliness is terrible, dirty sicks found under beds, all manor of junk down the back of the sofa. Windows were that dirty we cleaned them ourselves. This is the worst lodge out of the three here. They need updating. Sofa has seen better days and the bed rooms need new beds, wallpaper sorted out, and why are there no TVs? Speaking of which, the TV also needs replacing. Only me shower in the entire lodge. Out of Autograph lodges I've visited in the past, this is nowhere near the standard."
