"We stayed for one week in May and could not have been happier. We shared with friends from Germany who felt exactly the same way. The welcome we received from the extremely helpful owners was exceptional and included a lovely card and home baked delicious cakes. This cottage is in a perfect spot with easy access to everything we wanted to see in the area and for more lazy days, there are several lovely walks starting right at the doorstep. Every leaflet and map one could wish for were available and the owners, living next door, very only too happy to help.Kippen itself is beautiful and has a wonderful community feel to it; we can recommend both local pubs for nice food and a friendly welcome.I arrived with a large box of everything one usually doesn't find in a rented cottage and has to buy locally; I should not have bothered. Everything right down to the smallest detail/item had already been thought off. The kitchen was better kitted out then my own!I would like to mention the fabulous comfortable beds since a good night sleep is an important part of a good holiday.Last, but definitely NOT least for a party of mainly Germans: The house as spotlessly clean! Not a fleck of dust anywhere and everything was is brilliant condition or even new.If you are looking for a home from home, with a friendly welcome, great value for money and in a lovely spot, look no further. We will definitely be returning. Many thanks!"

"A delightful cottage in a beautiful location, with friendly and helpful owners. This was our second holiday at S57593, having enjoyed it so much last year. The cottage was clean, neat and homely, with a well-equipped kitchen (including an excellent set of knives - a rare thing in holiday homes!) The electric heaters were great for keeping the rooms cosy when required, and the electric blanket and woodburning stove, with plenty of wood, were real luxuries. The cottage is barely a 5 minute walk from the shore of Loch Long, and only about another 5 minutes from the little local shop. A 25 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) along the loch is a great cafe, a brilliant butcher's, a post office, a pub and general stores. We enjoy walking, and the Rosneath peninsula is a great place to explore. To explore further afield, we drove to various places in the surrounding area, from where we went on some beautiful walks with stunning scenery. S57593 provides great holiday accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We definitely intend to return!"

"The location was amazing, peaceful and somewhat beautiful even in the rain. The accommodation was well-equipped with everything you would need during a short holiday. There was a large bath tub, however it was impossible to fill it with hot water, not sure why. Possibly the boiler was too small, but it was enough water for showers. Our dog was welcome which was really nice, the floors in the kitchen were heated so our boy was happy and warm. There were eggs, bacon, milk, fresh bread, wine, which was very welcoming touch. The shop was about 20 minutes away by car, the smaller one was closer but it closed very early. The fire detector in the kitchen was quite annoying to be honest, it was going off when we were making toast or even heating up our meals in the oven. Very sensitive indeed, but I suppose it is for guests safety."

"This was our second stay at this lovely cottage and it didn't disappoint. The owners make every effort to ensure a special stay. The welcome pack is great and the Chocolate bunnies under the children's pillows (it was Easter!) was a lovely touch. The cottage has everything you need for an enjoyable break. The location is superb with Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs all less than an hour away.Stirling has some lovely shops but the main attractions are the Castle and the Wallace monument. We visited the old jail which I would recommend.Edinburgh Zoo is really good but be prepared to walk as it sits on a hillside. There are also lots of beautiful walks in the Trossachs and surrounding areas. We will definitely be making it a third visit to this cottage in the future."

"The cottage is in a lovely position at the top of a slope looking down over a loch with a fabulous view from the large bedroom window. Everything is immaculately kept, and it had everything we needed including a very generous welcome pack on arrival. Towels, bath robe and even slippers were included. The owners have provided an 'honesty room' where you can get a variety of information or borrow games, DVDs etc. though we didn't actually get time to use these as we had only booked 3 nights. The cottage is away from everything but ideally situated for sightseeing - we visited Balloch at Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, Doune Castle, the Wallace Monument and Edinburgh and also had a lovely evening stroll round the loch next to the cottage. Perfect break!"
