What our customers say about their holidays

    • Anna - Verified booking

Lovely cottage, pretty rooms, lovely views and we were very comfortable.

There was a wood burner which will be really nice in winter but we did not need to use it - it was very cosy. The dining area was spacious and nice. There are some beautiful walks nearby, including a walk through the valley to Port Talbot and the nearby Afan Forest country park. We also enjoyed the South Wales Miner's museum, which was very interesting. The Bethel Chapel cafe is great (open at weekends) and the Teapot a short drive away. Mumbles lovely for a day out. As feedback we could have used a few more kitchen things - a teapot and cafetiere coffee pot would be useful, as the space is perfect for large groups. A bread knife, and knife sharpener would be nice to have and the cutlery wasn't great for e.g. cutting a steak. Also just to note, the utensils are metal and there are a number of lovely new non stick pans, which will get scratched by metal, so some wooden or silicone ones might be good! These are just small things though and we generally really enjoyed cooking and eating at the cottage.

Location To be frank we weren't very happy with our stay as what we saw in pics the house wasn't very well maintained Few issues we want to highlight 1. The living area was quite small, which wasn't very clear in pics and we with three families can't sit together. 2. Both the bathrooms were quite old and even the toilet seat was not well, we need to use the threads to hold the top. This was quite frustrating. 3. The second bath was not usable due to shower issues ( we definitely wanted more than 1 bath) and that's the reason we booked this property and paid extra £100s 4. There were spider webs in the room. 5. We even found small slugs on the ground floor, which made us really scared in the evenings.

We had a delightful Easter stay at Greenheart Cottage.

Set in a pretty valley, above a tumbling river, centrally located for an easy drive to the Brecons or to the beautiful beaches. The cottage was clean, warm and inviting, as an adult family of 7, we were comfortable and had everything we needed, (soon to have the addition of a hot tub with views over the valley) We were made very welcome by Dylan the owner and also the proud owners of the Bethal Church cafe as mentioned in a previous review, just a short walk over the viaduct. The locals are very proud of the fact Richard Burton was born there and his family are still local. I would definitely like to go back again.

This property is almost too beautiful to be rented out!

Thw views from the back are stunning! The area is perfect for dog owners and walkers with many many trails to complete. The garden has easy access and security locks to take bikes etc knowing they are safe when going out for the day! Pub is 2 doors away - with an even nice one a short stroll down the road. We have had the best week, knowing the dogs have space to run and play in the garden safely and securely in the nice large garden, whilst we sit and sip a cold cider in the lazy spa, and the kids play the multiple games left by the owners. This really is a home from home

Had a great stay in Arfryn. This cosy house was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Close to all the shops, cafes and restaurants and a good base for exploring the Gower. Although close to the town, it was very quiet. M & S Food Hall is just around the corner which proved to be very handy. Can recommend The Sharing Plate for a delicious meal, Pippins Cafe for coffee and cakes and Johnnies (just around the corner) for freshly cooked fish and chips but be prepared to wait as they are cooked to order but worth waiting for! Would recommend this property for a lovely place to stay!
