"Mill Quay cottage is wonderful. Just the right size for two people and a dog! We found we had most things we needed for our stay. The lounge was very comfortable with a decent sized TV and a dvd player for cosy nights in front of the fire, wifi, and a radio in the kitchen to listen to whilst cooking. There is a dedicated parking space and a little lawned area for guest use. The location is really fabulous - wonderful views and peaceful. We found the neighbours in the other three cottages around the mill pond very friendly and quiet - particularly Alan and Nick! Thank you for the tips on the area! There are some points that unfortunately I have to make regarding cleanliness and comfort. The kitchen bin was full of rubbish when we arrived, there were cobwebs everywhere, there was no wood pack for the fire, and the bed linen wasn't the best. There were human hairs in the bed (!), no top sheet to sleep under (it was too hot for a duvet) and the bottom sheet was very bobbly and generally the linen was very creased. The mattress was the biggest bugbear as there was terrible roll-together (constant waking one another up as we ended up in the middle of the bed) and it was lumpy. This really could do with being addressed as a good night's sleep is paramount. Also, I don't know if the owners are aware, but there is only sufficient hot water for about a three minute shower, and when running a bath one only manages about six inches of hot water. We had to boil kettles and pans of hot water to have a decent bath, and when showering wait half an hour after one had showered before the other could whilst the water heated back up.I really dislike having to complain about things as I run a B&B and know that it can be difficult to please everyone all the time, however the mattress/bedding and the hot water issue need to be addressed. I contacted the caretaker regarding the lack of wood pack and the kitchen bin - he apologised and delivered some wood to us the next day, so all fine there and no harm done. In fact, he even sorted out a faulty lamp in the bedroom (assume that the bulb had blown - some spares in the laundry room might be a good idea) so that we had reading light at night - thank you Syd! Some information regarding where to put rubbish would be helpful too (we had to ask the neighbours). There was a nice welcome card and lovely bottle of wine waiting for our arrival, which we enjoyed whilst sitting on the lawn and watching the terns and swans on the mill pond - thank you for that, it is a thoughtful touch. Overall (if the mattress was sorted out) we would stay again without hesitation as it was a wonderful relaxing holiday in a great location for visiting areas on the south coast of Cornwall."

"Booked a week at the cottage initially due to its close location to HMS Raleigh and attending my great nieces passing out. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was the perfect base for travelling to Polperreo, St Michaels Mount, Padstow, Boscastle, Port Issac and Looe with some beautiful beaches near by. The owners very kindly leave a welcome tray that includes peanuts, wine and biscuits and was a very nice addition. The village is very quiet and quaint with a pub and a village shop. Waitrose and Lidl not too far away. We had very little passing traffic during our stay, mainly dog walkers and horse riding. You can have a lovely walk down the lane which leads to the boatyard a church and small village. We would definitely stay here again as it's a beautiful quiet location with lovely gardens."

"The cottage was bigger inside than it appeared in the photos, and was comfortable, cosy, and tastefully furnished and decorated. You could tell that a bit of thought had got into equipping it, especially the kitchen. There was a decent shower and a good supply of big fluffy towels. Everything was spotlessly clean, and very easy to keep that way with plenty of storage space to put away luggage and other travellers' clutter, and a good range of cleaning materials provided. The cottage is set in peaceful surroundings with very pleasant rural views, and the location is good with no need to travel far for supplies as there is a choice of shops nearby. We enjoyed our holiday very much, and would recommend it to anyone."

"Fabulous cosy cottage extremely warm, views totally stunning - great location for walks and visiting neighbouring places, padstow, tintagel and boscastle well worth a visit - cycling along the camel trail is a must. Syd The caretaker was very friendly and helpful, the bottle of wine was very welcomed! The only very slight negative about the property would be the hot water - there would only be enough hot water to run a very shallow bath so had to resort to boiling up pans of water so easily got around the problem - would definitely stay again as we had a very enjoyable Christmas there."

"A small but perfectly formed cottage which proved to be ideal for our week long stay. Slight smell of damp but a dehumidifier provided. Everything you needed was provided - beds were comfortable and the use of an outdoor space was fab. The best shower we have ever had in a rental property - there is a small local shop, pub and playground all within walking distance. The welcome tray was a lovely touch. My only slight niggle was that the wifi was pretty much non existent unless you sat in the bedroom window and even then was very hit & miss"
