"This cottage was well equipped and a lovely base from which to explore the north Pembrokeshire coast. It is in a lovely wooded setting and is quite isolated so very peaceful and quiet. It's a great place if you love nature and we loved exploring the surrounds. If you want modern then this is not for you. Some might think it a bit dated but personally I loved the mixture of antique and newer furniture and found it comfortable and homely. There were a couple of minor issues, which we reported at the end of our stay - for example, the Sky TV remote didn't work despite changing the batteries and one of the bedroom lamps didn't work. The most important thing was that there is NO PHONE as advertised which could be an issue as there is no mobile signal and the wi fi is only accessible outside. This is great if you really want to get away from it all but could be a problem in case of emergency as the property is so isolated. The other issue is that there is no shower, which is an inconvenience and not very environmentally friendly when saving water is becoming important. Also, although there is a washing machine it is in a poor state in a damp area under the outside staircase at the side of this cottage. It might work but didn't feel inclined to use it and felt it might not be safe. I notice that the lack of phone and the state of the washing machine has been mentioned in other reviews, so wonder why these issues have not been addressed? At the very least the description on the website should be modified to inform potential visitors. Apart from the above we had an enjoyable stay. The surrounds more than made up for the shortcomings."

"The apartment (cottage is too grand a title) is well-appointed, but we were sorely (literally!) disappointed with the parking, which is at the rear of the property, and a good 3 minute walk (for a healthy person) from the only entrance at the front of the property. What made it worse is that, as a disabled person, we weren't warned the walk included a 70 metre long ramp at 1:5 incline, so a hell of a challenge and very painful. We relied on me (the disabled one) being dropped off on the double yellow lines at the front door in the narrow lane (much to the annoyance of held-up traffic) and my partner then driving around to the car parking spot at the rear. When going out, she would walk around the block to collect the car then it's a 4-5 minute drive (when there's litle or no traffic!) around the one-way system to reach the front door to collect me and block the traffic once again. Loading and unloading bags and cases is a nightmare!A great base for exploring Pembrokeshire, but there are no views at all from the apartment. The completely-frosted windows face a dismal, narrow one-way street. Fine if all you want to do is have a clean, well-equipped base for walking or sightseeing probably not really suitable for anyone who is disabled or has mobility issues, or anyone wanting somewhere to sit out and chill in the evening."

"Mayeston Barn is a gem ! The owners will give you the best welcome ever. The accommodation is furnished to a high standard with every thought for your comfort. It is the cosiest most comfortable cottage we have rented. Ideally located for the best sights in Pembrokeshire. It was absolutely spotlessly clean, perfectly prepared and I was overwhelmed by the attention to detail the owners have gone to, to make your stay comfortable. The welcome pack we received on arrival was outstanding, and our Cocker Spaniel even had his own welcome pack of goodies. We could nt find anything to fault, and I love finding something that’s not quite right to give feedback on, but the owners have got Mayeston Barn so perfect! The photos are totally accurate, and it really is as it is shown. It is in a beautiful village, walking distance from a lovely country pub, great views, peaceful, and yet you have many of the main Pembrokeshire attractions of the area no more than 15 -30 minutes away. I highly recommend and am so glad we were lucky enough to find such a gem location. This property has been really lovingly and carefully prepared and it is like stepping into a real home, not a holiday rental. It is so quaint ....visitors please look after it !!!"

"Fantastic!! - I can not add too much more. OK, I will then! From the contact from Kevin prior to our arrival asking what type of bread we wanted left for us in the welcome package and being met upon arrival. Trish showed us the cottage and checked in on us a couple of days later to see if everything was OK. Everything was spotless, comfortable and everything, I mean everything!!! you could possibly need. Little touches like torches in the bedside cupboards to beach chairs, every accessory possible in the kitchen, were a lovely touch and very well thought of by the owners. The information supplied for local walks for the dog, to the short cut to the shops were added little touches that made this holiday absolutely perfect, relaxing and comfortable. I would highly recommend this cottage and the owners. The only downside is the downstairs bathroom but that did not affect us at all. If you are thinking of visiting this area then look to see if this is available. Walk down the lane to Lamphey Palace (where you can walk the dog) and you will met with a superb little find. We will return and we will recommend this cottage to everyone we speak to. Thank you Kevin and Trish. I will end with the word Fantastic!!"

"From the welcome we received on arrival everything about this cottage was perfect. The cottage is well equipped and so peaceful, the hot tub provided a welcome relaxation at the end of a day out. The bedrooms were comfortable, with shutters at the windows and plenty of storage space. The Kitchen was well equipped and it was great to be able to order a supermarket delivery for the day we arrived rather than take food, although there is a good Co-op at Kitgetty (5 minute drive) and Tesco Extra at Carmarthen (about 20 minute drive). The lounge area was very cosy for evenings watching a little TV (take your Amazon Firestick or alternative), I imagine in the winter the fire would heat the room perfectly. Plenty of hot water for showing, having two bathrooms was great when holidaying with a teenager. The location was great for exploring the Pembrokeshire area, no day out took more than an hours drive. We would love to return....."
