About this property

Nestled beneath the impressive castle in the coastal town of Harlech, Gwynedd, Tan Llech is a picturesque getaway ideal for friends or families looking to make the most of the coast and countryside of Wales. Be welcomed by the grey stone exterior of this charming abode and park off-road, entering through the stable door and unpacking with ease into an open-plan living space with vaulted ceilings. Finding yourself in a light and airy social hub with contemporary décor and an opulent feel, recline in the sitting area and plan your itinerary for the week with a coffee in hand. Here there is also a TV for movie nights, a dining table for four and a lovely kitchen area fitted with all of the necessities needed to rustle up a storm. From the living area, patio doors open up onto a front patio with furniture, offering views across the park and towards the castle, an ideal spot for enjoying a tipple in the afternoon sunshine. After a long day enjoying the local beach, freshen up in the contemporary shower room before settling down into either a beautifully presented master bedroom with built-in wardrobes or a delightful twin. Harlech is a simply dreamy location, with a great selection of local independent shops, pubs, eateries, and a convenience store, so guests can enjoy a hearty meal out, sample local produce including home-made ice cream and stock up on essentials before heading out to explore. Harlech is home to a host of attractions, beginning with the Magnificent Harlech Castle itself, a great spot for enjoying the far-reaching seaside views and learning more about the local history and heritage. Harlech is also home to a renowned golf course, so why not try out a game or two before making the most of the spectacular sandy beach? Visit the incredible Italian-style village of Portmeirion where guests can stroll through the picturesque gardens and take in the intriguing architecture. Further from the property you will find the town of Criccieth where there is a second castle and beach, and beyond that, the breath-taking scenery of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Here you can hike, mountain bike, birdwatch, wild swim or try out watersports or enjoy an action-packed afternoon at Zip World. All of this and so much more with a stay at the lovely Tan Llech.

Situated in a magnificent position between the mountains and the sea, the delightful small town of Harlech is dominated by its majestic 13th century castle. Harlech Castle is recognised as the most impressive of all those built in North Wales by Edward I and has World Heritage status. The town is very popular with golfers, who come to enjoy the famous Royal St. Davids course, whilst the beautiful sandy beach is wonderful for family fun and long walks. Harlech offers an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants, whilst the whole of the Snowdonia National Park, together with the sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay, are all within easy reach.

It was spotlessly clean with brand new appliances and lovely shower. It is in a great location and lovely and warm. I personally could not fault the cottage and providing us with milk, eggs and welsh cakes was a lovely and unexpected surprise and a great touch. I would recommend this cottage to friends/family.

It had everything we needed for our family break, it was like home from home! We were soo touched by the gesture of milk, eggs and welsh cakes together with tea coffee and sugar left by the owner a lovely touch! Also soo grateful that there was a hairdryer as I forgot mine…… life saver! The owner Chris met us when we arrived and was very helpful giving advice on local places to eat! Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone!
