About this Bed and Breakfast

Sychnant Pass Country House is set in three acres of beautiful landscaped gardens on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. With 12 individually styled rooms, leisure facilities and views that are second to none, this is the perfect rural hideaway. Accessed via a short drive from the main A55, the house is accessible all year round.

The Rooms

Each of Sychnant's 12 rooms is named after a traditional Welsh hymn and includes tea/coffee making facilities, a flat screen digital TV, dressing gowns, slippers, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board.

Standard rooms

Aberystwyth - Ground floor room with a four poster bed and French doors that lead onto a south-facing, private terrace. The en-suite bathroom includes a corner bath and hand-held shower.

Ebenezer - Standard ground floor room with access to a south-facing terrace. This room can either be arranged with twin beds or a king-size double.

Rhuddlan - Stunning views of the hills are provided with this standard double room on the first floor. Beds can either be configured as twins or a king-size double.

Deluxe rooms

Blaenwern - Superior room to the rear of the house. Features a west-facing balcony, double aspect windows and a Jacuzzi bath.

Cwn Rhondda - Top of the range suite that's ever-popular with newlyweds and couples celebrating their anniversary or any other special occasion. The room includes a Jacuzzi bath, two double sofas and an emperor bed.

Gwalchmai - This room offers the best views in the house courtesy of two large windows. Beds can arranged as twins or a king-size double.

Hyfrydol - South-facing room that can either be configured with twin beds or a king-size double. The sofa can be made into an additional bed, though extra per person charges apply.

Suites

Ar hyd y nos - Popular suite tucked away in a quiet part of the house. Includes its own terrace, bedroom with king size bed, and an adjoining lounge area.

Calon Lan - Beautiful first floor suite with a private deck, hot tub and king size bed.

Llanfair - Family suite at the front of the house. Features a main room with a four poster bed and a lounge with sofas that convert into beds for three additional children.

St David - One of two galleried suites. Included is a sitting room downstairs and a bedroom upstairs.

St Denio - The second of two galleried suites. Also includes a sofa downstairs that can be converted into a double bed.

Restaurant

The restaurant is open seven days a week and its garnered a justified reputation for fine dining. Meals are freshly prepared using local produce and there's a selection of up to eight starters and main courses to choose from.

Meals are served between 7pm and 8pm each night and special diets can be catered for.

Pool and Spa

The country house has its own spa facilities which include an indoor heated pool and adjoining sauna. There's also an outdoor hot tub and gym equipped with cardiovascular equipment. During their stay, guests are free to use the facilities.

Weddings and Special Occasions

Sychnant can be exclusively booked out for a range of functions: birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, car rallies and even murder mystery weekends. 

There's free off-road parking and you'll have access to all the house's facilities including the swimming pool, gym and three acres of gardens.

Children sharing a room with a sofa bed are £25 per night, and children under five stay for free.

Dogs are £20 per stay.

Directions

Travelling west on A55 take the Conwy turn and follow signs for Conwy. Go past the castle and follow the sign for town centre. Go past Conwy Visitors Centre on the left, take the 2nd left into Upper Gate Street and proceed up the hill for just over a mile and a half. Sychnant Pass house can be seen on the right hand side.

Travelling east on A55 take the sign for Conwy, turn right and come over the dual carriageway. Proceed towards Conwy until you see the castle walls immediately in front of you.  At this junction, turn right up the hill to a T junction, turn right again and continue for about one mile and half, Sychnant Pass House will be found on the right.
