Upstairs, you’ll find three elegant bedrooms complete with ample storage for all your personal belongings; the airy and spacious shower room is the idyllic spot for relaxing or freshening up before your day begins. Within the local village, there are plenty of well-stocked shops for picking up essentials, as well as Deri Woods and the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, a popular tourist spot and exciting ride as it passes a viaduct and river bridge, climbs the notorious Golfa Bank and steams serenely through the beautiful Welsh countryside. Be sure to pay a visit to the nearby Mid Wales Alpacas Trek and Experience Farm, where you can meet and learn more about the alpacas, embark on a unique experience with alpaca treks through the rural countryside, there is a separate mini trail for the little ones and a meet and greet on offer for those unable to do the full trek, and end your day with a picture of you and your fluffy companion! Travel further to Welshpool and be impressed by the extraordinary Powys Castle and Gardens or try your hand at Golf at the Welshpool Golf Club; for nature lovers Llyn Coed y Dinas Nature Reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife including birds, butterflies, moths, dragonflies, and damselflies. Further afield, there is the magnificent Lake Vyrnwy, a hidden gem nestled on the edge of The Snowdonia National Park where you can walk, cycle, sail, paddle and birdwatch, ideal for the whole family. For a memorable getaway to Powys, choose Tan Y Ddol.

In the valley of the river Banwy, the town of Llanfair Caereinion was constructed on the remains of a former Roman fort. With a Post Office, two supermarkets, and a choice of three different pubs, it is a vibrant town centred on The Church of St. Mary. Locals love the yearly Llanfair Caereinion Carnival, which passes through the town with a full parade of floats and dancing groups to recreate the carnival atmosphere of Rio. Before travelling back in time and boarding the start of the narrow-gauge vintage steam railway that goes 8.5 miles west to Welshpool, there is a river walk along the banks of the Banwy that leads to an arboretum with over 25 distinct varieties of British trees. Welshpool is tucked away in the upper slopes of the lovely Severn Valley, not far from the Welsh-English border. This thriving market town is surrounded by rich, unspoiled farmland and rolling hills. Along with the rebuilt cock fighting pit and intriguing Heritage Trail in the town centre, there is a distinctive mix of stores selling arts and crafts, fashion and leisure, fresh produce, and great pubs and restaurants. Visit the famed Dingle Gardens and the well-known Powys Castle from the 13th century. Take advantage of beautiful walks and bike rides along National walking trails and the Offa's Dyke Pathway or take a summertime boat down the Montgomery Canal.

Everything extremely well thought out. The smallest moan would be we couldn't find any brushes or bin bags to leave the property as clean as possible. Highly recommended

We loved having a fire every night which made the cottage really cosy as well as having the benefit of underfloor heating. The beds were really comfy and we all slept well. The location of the cottage was great too with lots of nice walks near by and a few small local shops.

Fantastic cottage restoration with all mod cons. Mattresses were very comfortable, shower was fantastic and neighbours were very helpful. The only areas for improvement would be instructions for the complicated induction hop and more comfortable sofas. All in all a wonderful few days break.
