Snaptrip says

Riverside Cottage is praised for its stunning location, friendly owners, and beautiful gardens, making it a peaceful retreat for guests and their pets. The property offers a private river walk and is appreciated for its cleanliness and comfort, despite some suggestions for updates to the kitchen and furnishings.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, with no trace of previous pets, although a few noted areas for improvement, such as dog odours and cleanliness of kitchen items. The majority of feedback, however, commends the cleanliness, especially considering it is a pet-friendly property.

The location is consistently described as beautiful and peaceful, with a private river walk and proximity to local attractions. The scenic surroundings and wildlife contribute to a tranquil experience, highly valued by the guests.

Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, with roomy bedrooms and a large garden. Some guests mentioned the beds could be more comfortable and the sofa was worn, but overall, the comfort level was satisfactory.

The facilities received mixed reviews. While the garden and outdoor areas were highly praised, several guests noted the need for updates in the kitchen and bathroom facilities. The presence of a well-equipped kitchen was mentioned, but some found the appliances outdated and the kitchen space limited.

The owners' thoughtfulness was highlighted by their friendly approach and occasional welcome gifts, such as a bottle of wine. However, it should be noted that such gestures are at the owners' discretion and not guaranteed for every stay.

The owners are on site and go out of their way to make you welcome. The safe fenced private garden is a welcome extra. 5 minutes to the local village which has everything you need. Quirky and quaint

It’s a little slice of heaven- stunning. We took our 2 dogs, both high energy dogs who love to be outdoors. One has no recall and can usually only be walked on a lead. The cottage has a really big, beautifully maintained, enclosed garden which isn’t shared with any of the other cottages. But more importantly, it has a lovely big field/meadow area adjoining it with safe banks down to the river. The field is part of the estate and fully enclosed, other than a gate at the far end (you just need to check it’s been closed before letting your dogs off as there are sheep further down the track). All 4 cottages have access to the field/river but we didn’t see a single other person using it all week. Was such a luxury to have it to ourselves. Our dogs (and myself and my husband) had a fantastic time in the water in the sunshine. Absolutely made our holiday being to be able to let the dogs have the run of the field for hours. They’ve never slept so well. A personal highlight for me was seeing the kingfisher on the river. We saw them every day while sat, enjoying breakfast on the table in the garden. Every direction you look from the cottage garden is beautiful scenery. Mountains with red kite gliding above them , the river and woodland with birds galore, fish jumping out of the water, ornate chimney tops, and the colourful boarders in the garden. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Not intrusive in the slightest. The kitchen is very compact but perfectly big enough for me and my husband. You might struggle with 5 guests though. I couldn’t help but think the large shower room would be better utilised as a kitchen and the kitchen as a compact bathroom. My only very slight gripes were that the windows could have done with a more recent clean (spiderwebs in abundance) and the little yard area off the kitchen could have been spruced up a bit. Also, had the adjoining cottage (Gardener’s Cottage)been occupied, I would have been concerned about privacy as there is only a locked internal door separating the two cottages and I think sounds may travel. We were, however, lucky enough to have the other cottage vacant during our stay. I really wouldn’t let this put you off though. With the outdoor space and surrounding scenery, you’ll spend most of your time enjoying outdoors. On the whole, the place was spotlessly clean, no trace of dogs. Shower was great. We had a fantastic time and we would absolutely love to come back.

Nothing was too much trouble for Chee who always had a smile on his face and forthcoming with advice re fly fishing Which was the reason we chose to stay at this property. We picked Riverside Cottage over Gardeners Cottage due to the large rear garden access but with hindsight would stay at Gardeners on our next visit as Riverside had a very small kitchen especially the fridge which was tiny. We love to shop once a week and spend the rest of the time relaxing on site but there was very limited storage space for food and cooking pots and pans were very limited, hence we had to go out every day for supplies. Apart from this the holiday was wonderful and relaxing and I would recommend this location. With very little effort this holiday cottage could easily be upgraded to 4*.
