Guests say

Guests have praised Salmon Cottage for its stunning refurbishment, beautiful surroundings, and the warm, helpful hosts. The property offers a relaxing holiday with opportunities for nature walks and exploring local attractions. While some minor issues were noted, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment in a picturesque Welsh setting.

Most guests found the cottage clean and well-maintained, though there were isolated comments about cleaning issues, which were promptly resolved by the owner. Some minor complaints about dishware and cobwebs suggest room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its beauty, proximity to nature, and central position for exploring the area. The presence of a busy road was noted but not generally found intrusive.

The majority of guests found the beds comfortable and the chalet cosy, with a few remarks about the need for updates and the disturbance from construction work during one guest's stay.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a modern kitchen and bathroom, though some guests mentioned the lack of Wi-Fi and poor TV reception. The presence of builders and ongoing work affected one guest's experience.

Hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, including providing recommendations and gifts of fresh produce. However, as these gifts are at the hosts' discretion, they should not be expected on every visit.

A really lovely place to stay, comfy ,clean and the situation was perfect. We had the most relaxing week, we might not have caught any fish but the setting made up for it. The hosts were very helpful with recommendations of where to eat and visit. The Elan valley was beautiful. we took the long back route to to furthest point, it was worth it as the views were stunning.

The kids loved running around in the woods and exploring. It was a great base for the area with lots to see and do, although the weather didn’t play ball during our stay and it rained most days which I had expected anyway after watching the weather predictions. The only thing that let it down and it was a small thing, the tv reception was not good with the picture breaking up a lot. Tv is so important with kids and especially if they get stuck inside due to the weather. Also the internet was really slow so there was no way to log in to my Netflix account to keep the kids amused. We noticed lots of bats in the roof space which were great to watch come and go as darkness fell and somehow one managed to find itself in the kitchen sink and nearly drowned. We dried it off and it slowly warmed up and flew off again to live another day. All in all, we loved our week away and our stay here. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality.
