About this property

Haul A Gwynt means Sun & Wind in English - this name gives a little nod to the stunning elevated position and wonderful views that this holiday house enjoys. From the house and grounds you can take in vistas that stretch along the coastline of North Wales, and take in Criccieth Castle and the mountains beyond. An open fire gives the sitting room a cosy feel, there are gorgeous gardens and a short walk takes you into the centre of the seaside village of Criccieth on the Llyn Peninsula.

The sitting room is decorated in a traditional style with a Welsh dresser that’s been handed down through the generations of this local family. This room commands lovely sea views, comfortable sofas and chairs around an open fire that adds warmth in cooler months. Use can use the Smart TV to access your own Netflix and LoveFilm accounts, with DVD/CD players too.

The dining room is ideal for family suppers. A table and chairs to seat up to six.

The spacious kitchen has a dual-fuel cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, a three-drawer freezer and a wonderful proper pantry! There’s also a small breakfast table in here, ideal for your morning cuppa and toast!

The utility room has a washing machine and storage space for outdoor gear.

There are cloakrooms on ground floor with loo and wash hand basin.

There is a double room that enjoys wonderful sea views and along the coast towards the historic town of Harlech. The second room also has sea views and has zip ‘n' link beds which are made up as a king size as standard but can be two singles by prior request. There's a twin bedroom as well as a compact single bedroom.

The family bathroom is upstairs and has a wash hand basin, loo and walk-in shower that is especially adapted for the less mobile.

Helpfully, there is a stairlift and you will need to inform us if you wish to make use of it during your stay.

If you can tear yourself away from the comfort of the holiday house and the views it commands, then you can always take a stroll into Criccieth. It offers restaurants, pubs and cafes. There’s a fabulous deli, a bakery with amazing eclairs and locally-owned shops. Walk along the promenade, grab an ice cream or good old fish and chips. You could always visit the castle for more amazing views, too! As you can see there’s a lot of on your doorstep, but if you jump in the car some of the Llyn Peninsula’s best attractions, towns and villages and places to eat and drink are within easy reach. Whether you want to experience a seaside holiday on sandy beaches, or even head into the mountains of Snowdonia, both are possible from this large holiday house.

The beds will be made made up as advertised, if you would like a different bed configuration please contact Menai Holidays 7 days before your arrival.

Often described as the 'Pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia’, this delightful seaside town is situated just 5 miles from Porthmadog. The town’s 13th century castle perches majestically on a rocky outcrop, dominating the skyline and offering superb views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are spoilt for choice by the proximity of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Stroll along the beaches, watch porpoises playing in the surf, or relax in the various pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, sampling the famous Cadwalader’s ice cream. Further afield, attractions such as Portmeirion’s wonderful Italianate gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the beautiful beaches and renowned golf courses of the Llyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.
