About this property

This semi-detached cottage, bursting with character and tradition, rests in the pretty North Wales village of Dinas Mawddwy, within the Snowdonia National Park. For a charming and cosy hideaway to enjoy while touring this beautiful region, Gwynfryn is perfect for friends and families to come and stay. The property's charm is evident from the moment that you enter the rustic kitchen/diner, the traditional flagstone flooring and wooden beams are matched with a splendid dining table and a well-equipped cream-coloured kitchen to bring a real country cottage theme. Adjacent to this you will find a heart-warming sitting room, featuring snug sofas and an enticing woodburner in a gorgeous Inglenook fireplace. However, this is not a normal fireplace, a small door to the left of the woodburner opens at the foot of a 'secret' staircase leading up to a peaceful little snug room with plenty of books and games to keep you busy on a rainy day. Back in the main part of the house, another staircase leads you up to three of Gwynfryn's four tasteful bedrooms; a double, a twin and a single room exude peace and comfort, while a splendid family bathroom also sits on this level. A further staircase leads you to the snug attic conversion, abounding in quirky exposed beams, it plays host to an enticing double bed which ensures an enjoyable night's rest. In the summer months, spend your downtime out in the private garden where you can sit and sip a refreshing drink, or perhaps treat you and your loved ones to a tasty barbecue under the sun. Dinas Mawddwy is a welcoming holiday base, it hosts a pub and a shop and is surrounded by breath-taking walking and cycling paths to enjoy. As well as the astounding outdoor opportunities of Snowdonia, you can visit popular spots such as the stunning market town of Dolgellau and the ever-popular seaside resort of Barmouth. Use Gwynfryn as the comforting base from which to explore the superb Welsh countryside.
