About this property

Penygroes 1.7 miles. This traditional quarryman’s cottage rests in a peaceful location within the village of Cilgwyn in North Wales. High above the Nantlle Valley, this quiet getaway is positioned in one of the most desirable settings in the area, enjoying superb views over the Snowdonia National Park. Step into the entrance porch, where you can leave your jackets and boots before continuing into the open-plan living area. Immediately catching your eye is the original stone and slate fireplace, which houses a cast iron multi-fuel burner, providing a warm and cosy feel to the house. Adjacent to this inviting setup is the traditional cottage-style kitchen, with an open plan design, fitted with a wooden base and wall units that compliment the exposed stone and slate of the fireplaces; the kitchen is equipped with the necessary appliances to ensure a stress-free cooking experience, along with a breakfast bar where you can enjoy your toast and cereal whilst planning for the day ahead. Head upstairs to find the spacious landing and three bedrooms, including the master double bedroom, which boasts an exposed roof beam as well as an original cast iron fireplace and, of course, the panoramic view of the valley; there is also a second double and single. Completing the interior of 3 Blue Bell is the ground-floor contemporary shower room with double walk-in shower and underfloor heating, so you can get ready for each day in style. For a moment of peace of quiet, sit out in the gravelled garden amidst a variety of well-kept shrubs and bushes with a stunning view to appreciate, or make your way into the village of Penygroes to find a local supermarket, which is handy for grabbing those last-minute essentials. A few miles further rests the principle town of Caenarfon, with its historic castle, shops, restaurants and cafes, whilst Llanberis, the starting point for many routes up Mount Snowdon, is also within easy reach. Beach lovers can spend some time on the beautiful Blue Flag beach at Dinas Dinlle, offering a sloping shoreline, sand dunes and rock pools, just six miles away. This deceptively spacious cottage offers something for everyone.

Penygroes is a charming village located to the south of Caenarfon and north of Porthmadog in Gwynedd, Wales. The village’s past revolved around the quarrying trade however it is now better known for its shopping and administrative facilities. The popular locations of Caernarfon and Llanberis are nearby, with the latter offering a number of excelling walking and cycling routes including many of which scale up Mount Snowdon.

Everything you could need in he cottage. Beds comfy the cottage lovely and cosy. Magical garden. Fantastic views. The drive down to the cottage is very bad and some what challenging. Not good for the car the road is so uneven. We recommend parking at the top and walking down. Don't let this put you of going just be prepared for the road.

The weather was on our side all week which obviously helps alot in Wales. The views we had are nothing short of magical and memories that we will cherish forever. The kids didn't want to come home. The cottage was clean, spacious and very welcoming (the Welsh cakes went down a treat, so thank you). Some very close walks that I went on with the kids and again the scenery is stunning, so many pictures that I'll cherish with the children. Close by amenities for all the essentials but far enough away from any hustle and bustle. The cottage held a calm, relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, I can honestly say I fell in love with it if you can't already see if. There is parking for 2 vehicles...... However the "track" leading down can be difficult, after the first drive down and back up we decided to park elsewhere and enjoy the 3 minute walk to the cottage. Tesco will happily deliver groceries to your door as we found out. So book a slot for the day you're arriving and sit back and enjoy the most amazing place. We are already planning a return journey next year once I have cleared my shifts. Many thanks loved it.

I know it’s an old dated property but just because a property is old doesn’t mean it can’t be sparkly clean. The track leading to the property is a total joke, I know it is stated that it’s not great but that’s an understatement. We were in a SUV and just managed to get down it but I wouldn’t have been able to if we were in a normal car as the divets and bumps in the road are impassable. The bigger holes could be patched up for not much money. However the area of North Wales is beautiful.
