All properties: Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. Landscaped gardens (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking. No smoking. These purpose-built holiday cottages (refs 24574, 27255 and 27257) have been constructed or converted from the original farmhouse buildings and an old Welsh longhouse. Welsh craftsmanship at its best - only the finest local tradesmen and materials have been used for the conversion of these buildings. They are situated in an elevated position on the edge of Broadlay near Ferryside on the old pilgrim road to St David’s Cathedral.
There is generous amenity space, dog walking paths and a country adventure play area for small, accompanied children. The complex is on the local bus route which connects to Carmarthen via the hotel and Ferryside railway station. In the opposite direction, Kidwelly and Swansea are en route. Ferryside is uncommercialised, peaceful and quiet; the ideal getaway for a perfect weekend (or longer) break. It is also, due to its proximity to Carmarthen, Llanelli and other centres, an ideal corporate meeting place. Kidwelly, with its Norman castle, industrial heritage museum, Pembrey Country Park and Motorsport Centre, within approximately 10 minutes’ travelling time.
The National Botanical Gardens, Laugharne (famous for Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse) and many Pembrokeshire attractions are about half an hour’s drive. There are many places to visit including Dylan Thomas’ cottage, where he spent the last years of his life. The Millennium Coastal Cycle Path, part of the national cycle path network, meanders through approximately 20 miles of local coastline, passing through local areas of interest. Places to visit include Kidwelly Castle, the Penclawydd Wildfowl Centre, and the Loughor Estuary with views of the Mumbles Peninsula south of Swansea. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
Please note: There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.

On arrival we were told the boiler was broken. Fortunately the cottage next door was available and we were offered this cottage as well. Unfortunately there weren’t enough beds for our group in the new cottage, so we used both cottages. We were there to use the cottage as a base for visiting relatives, for this it was fine. But the TV didn’t work in one cottage, the curtains didn’t actually stop the light and were hanging off the rail in parts in both cottages. The beds were clean but creaky. But the fridge and oven worked which is what we needed.Did it work for us for 3 nights yes, would I go back - probably not. Would I recommend the cottage - no I don’t think I could.

Great accommodation in a great location. We love the area, the landscape and history. There are a few niggles that could easily be addressed. The shower heads need replacing, the kettle is leaking, there are no lights in the upstairs bathroom, the right side of the toaster does not work and on the last night we lost the hot water.

There were many disappointing aspects -No corkscrew/bottle opener, kitchen scissors, towels in the third bedroom, or non metallic dishes for microwave making that equipment useless. Toaster did not work properly, right hand side lever did not stay down, the kettle was dangerous as it dribbled badly pouring boiled water over feet and needs to be replaced Only one tea towel and three dishwasher tablets. Apart from wine glasses very few other types of glasses. The freezer section of the stand alone fridge freezer completely iced up and had to be defrosted before use. No guidance pack or folder on use of equipment, recycling requirements or local amenities. The information on the one page sheet provided gave a password which did not work and the router details were wrong for Wi-fi.Whilst the cottage was comfortable, clean and well laid out the deficiencies above caused us extra expense buying a corkscrew and plastic bowl we left at the cottage and extra glasses which we took home. Very irritating !
