Clothes dried quickly enough outside in the heat but in the wet / cold this would have caused problems for a group of 7 running /walking long distances every day. All else lovely once direct contact with owner established to deal with teething issues (random fire/smoke alarm & locating bedding for separation of beds ). Does take a very long while to get through to Sykes on phone hence assessment of agent above. E mail help address would help. Overall ,however, house & location lovely

The communal areas are lovely and generally well kitted out. The owner contacted us on our arrival day to say the bifold doors had been broken by a previous guest. As they are such a feature of the house this was disappointing, and quite stressful as the house gets warm in the sunshine so you want to open them and enjoy the view and fresh air. We could open the main door, but had to be extremely careful, keeping the bifolds shut all the time. I hope there is time inbetween bookings to get these fixed as they are a beautiful feature. A few minor things that would have improved our stay: Another small coffee table A bread knife The toilet seats need to be tightened up as they move about Bed in the main bedroom at rear has very creaky/boney with the springs (but not uncomfortable) We repaired the table tennis bats as the rubber was falling off both, there's several broken balls that need to be replaced. Downstairs bathroom smelled drainy, this should be checked out. Some cleaning products would be useful to have in the kitchen Overall though this is a gorgeous, comfortable, very modern house, in a fantastic location with great facilities. It's ideal for a family or friendship group as there's enough room for everyone to have their own space but also come together. Both Sykes and the owner respond quickly and constructively to any queries.

As a family, overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, some points for the owners to consider - there were campers at the end of the garden, a campsite to which we weren’t aware of, so it put a little dampener on the view half way through our stay. The cleanliness wasn’t up to a standard I would expect at a £2.5k per week property. There were spiders nests in the corners of the ceiling and dead flies in many of the corners of the house. Upon arrival, the windows and ledges clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time which doesn’t leave a good first impression of the property. The walls leading up the stairs were marked heavily with dirt scuffs. The gardens needed cutting; the grass being left uncut for some time. The beds were uncomfortable due to having single beds pushed together to make a double, again, not the comfort you would expect for the cost. The back doors were broken which left us wary of opening them and them breaking further - with this being a focul point of the property leading to the amazing back views, you want these in good working order. We enjoyed our stay and aren’t the types of people to complain too much but my opinion is that for families to pay that amount of money, I would expect a cleaner home with things in full working order and more comfort in the bedrooms.
