About this property

Nestled in the small village of Llanfaelog, on the Isle of Anglesey, is this impressive five-bedroom holiday home, Y Goedwig. Welcoming up to twelve guests, in a contemporary yet homely setting, Y Goedwig has an idyllic location just a stroll to the local beach and Oyster Catcher restaurant for your next group celebration. Ample off-road parking welcomes you upon arrival to the property, beautifully decorated with a white-wash exterior and offering a small patio area to dust off your sandy toes before stepping inside. You're welcomed into the grand entrance hallway, leading you through to the open-plan living/dining room, offering a sociable space to gather with the group after a fun-filled day exploring the delights of the local area. The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped with all the amenities you'll need during your stay, including a handy dishwasher so there's no arguing over who's doing the dishes, and benefits from an adjoining breakfast room, offering an escape from the main living area to enjoy an intimate meal. If you're lucky enough to get the warmer weather, head outside to the patio to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining and taking in the tranquil setting of the delightful greenery surrounding the garden, ending the day with a rejuvenating seat in the luxurious hot tub. Take a rest from the beach or sightseeing to be entertained whatever the weather in the exceptional recreational games room; snuggle down into the stylish plush sofa with a book, choose a movie on the 65" Smart Sky TV that offers the full range of channels including sports, or opt for a competitive game of table tennis. The property's spacious master bedroom is located on the ground floor, ideal for those with limited mobility, fit with a super-king-size bed and benefiting from an en-suite shower room with double basins. Completing the ground-floor is a handy cloakroom with a basin and WC as well as a utility room, fit with a washer/dryer, where you can freshen up your wardrobe after a day at the beach. Heading upstairs you'll find four bedrooms, a family room boasting a king-size bed as well as an optional single futon bed- ideal for keeping an eye on little ones, a double room with the benefit of an en-suite shower room, a second double bedroom and a bunk room, where the option of an additional trundle bed can be requested for larger groups. The bedrooms are serviced by a sleek family bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower cubicle as well as a glamorous roll top bath, inviting you to choose between enjoying a gentle soak as you escape into a good book or jumping in the shower to wash away the day. Lace up your walking boots and take the short stroll into Llanfaelog, where you can enjoy a leisurely wander around Coed Cwr y Pwll, a National Forest that is home to woodland, wildflower meadows, and a tranquil pond. Head in the opposite direction toward Rhosneigr and spend a fun-filled day at Traeth Crigyll, a stretch of golden sandy beach popular with water sports enthusiasts, where thrill-seekers can visit Funsport Water Sports & Surf Shop and learn to kite-surf or paddleboard. After working up an appetite, head into Rhosneigr and indulge in a bite to eat at one of the village's many eateries, treating yourself with an ice-cream in typical seaside tradition. Jump in the car and travel to the nearby seaside resort of Trearddur Bay, host to a selection of exciting attractions and sights to discover including The Trefignath Burial Chambers, a trio of Neolithic tombs, as well as the scenic Porth Diana Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, a well-maintained mix of grassland and heathland boasting breath-taking views across the coastline of Anglesey. Avid walkers can join the Wales Coast Path at Trearddur Bay, following the rocky coast south, back to Rhosneigr. For a holiday with something to suit everyone, choose Y Goedwig.

On the western side of Anglesey, close to Rhosneig and the major railway that travels to Holyhead, lies a little settlement called Llanfaelog. In addition to its own 1848-built church, St. Maelog's, Llanfaelog also has a limited number of stores and eateries. Traeth Llydan, a rocky beach bordered by dunes, Porth Tyn Tywyn, and the lovely lake of Llyn Maelog are all nearby and provide lovely walks along the water. Due to its two sand beaches and popularity as a hub for all water sports, the nearby seaside town of Rhosneigr won the Green Coast Seaside Award. There are many delectable restaurants to pick from, and trekkers may join the Anglesey Coast Path, which circles the island and offers stunning coastline views.

Everything was perfect and we loved the personal touches like the Christmas decorations and card. We will definitely be back.

The ages ranged from 6 years to 82 years of age and it must be said we all had a fantastic stay, the house was magnificent and very spacious. The games room proved very popular and was enjoyed by all the guests. The hot tub was amazing especially after a cold dip in the sea. We all said we would definitely return to Y Goedwig, an idyllic home on the most beautiful island of Wales.

The house was so spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for 11 of us. The games room was brilliant for the kids. The beds were really comfortable and all utensils provided were great. It’s about a 20 minute walk to Rhosneigr and the Oyster Catcher is also on the way so you can stop off for a drink.
