This area was affectionately nicknamed "Captainās Row", as it was once a prestigious residential area popular with local sea captains. Whitby is still a proud seafaring town, where you can enjoy freshly caught seafood and discover more about the local heritage from Viking invasions, smugglers who risked their lives with a network of tunnels from the cliffs, heroic rescue missions from the life boat crew, and pioneers including James Cook who discovered Australia among other destinations.

The apartment enjoys elevated views over the harbour, both from the garden and the living area. The dining table in the bay window is perfectly positioned so that you can take in the scenery. There is a spacious open plan living area, with the dining area plus living room. One of the charming original features is the decorative Victorian fireplace. Separate from the living area there is a compact kitchen, with a small two ring hob and an oven. There is a modern shower room and a generously sized double bedroom.

The apartment is brilliantly placed for Whitby. It is quiet and clean. Yes, the bathroom is small (I bumped my nose on the wall after using the toilet!) but it was clean and the shower was hot, hot, hot! No problem with small kitchen. Just be aware that you park your car under a tree, and after 3 days it was covered in bird poo. We are not precious about our car but it took my husband 30 minutes to clean it off the bonnet once we were home. Lovely views, great place to watch the birds too. Perfect location for parkrun!
