Sleights is a great destination for both coastal and rural getaways, situated on the edge of the stunning North Yorkshire moors countryside, which is popular with hikers and cyclists, and is only 4 miles from the lovely Yorkshire coastline. Sleights has a bar, a fish and chip shop, an antique shop, a butcher's, a bakery, a hair salon, and a post office within a Spar. The end of the North Yorkshire Steam Railway is only a short drive away, and Sleights is served by frequent public transportation to and from the adjacent port of Whitby. Whitby, which is located at the mouth of the River Esk, is in a prime location for visiting this stunning region of Yorkshire, boasting a sandy beach and museum, and there are many more lovey places to visit, including Staithes, the well-known Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough. The lounge would have benefited with a Coffe table and standard lamp. The sofa needs renewing. Shaun, the manager was very accommodating and helpful.

However there are one or two little things that would improve a stay at the cottage. There are definitely not enough coat hangers in the wardrobes and the very few that are there are flimsy and would not hold a pair of jeans without bending. It would benefit from a roller blind on the door for added privacy and a coffee or occasional table would have been very useful to put drinks on while watching the TV.

Two large double bedrooms both ensuite with a generous size walk in showers just a small step up into shower. Large living room/kitchen with space to move around. Sean was very helpful and we enjoyed a lovely meal at his pub attached to the property. Would book the property again if we are in the area Just a couple of suggestion Two steps outside the property it would be helpful to have a grab rail near the door to help get up and down the steps The lounge would benefit from a coffee or some small side tables, and a standard lamp to save having to have the main lights on if you want to read a book. But apart from that we throughly enjoyed our stay at a excellent property
