Whitby town centre is a pleasant 10 mins’ walk away. Take the lift down to the beach for some timeless seaside fun. The bustling waterfront is home to a wide variety of lovely restaurants, the world-class fish and chips are a must! A short stroll over the swing bridge leads to Whitby’s ‘old town’, with its twisting cobbled streets and independent shops selling antiques and iconic jet. The town oozes history and no visit is complete without learning more about Captain Cook at the Memorial Museum.

Follow the coastline north to Sandsend, when the tide is out, and enjoy a well earned coffee and cake in one of the pretty cafes there. Other picturesque fishing villages awaiting discovery include: Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay and Runswick Bay.
