Pipit House is a traditional fisherman's cottage, resting less than a ten-minute walk away from, the enchanting seaside town of Whitby in North Yorkshire, whilst still enjoying a quiet position tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Set over three floors, this endearing, refurbished, and pet-friendly home is the perfect venue for families or groups of four wanting to bring their four-legged friends along for a fun-filled trip. On arrival, make your way through the charming gravelled front garden, and head inside to be welcomed into the lovely open-plan living space where you will immediately settle into this homely abode. Prepare a picnic in the fully-fitted and amply-equipped kitchen, to take with you on your exploration of Whitby, making use of the excellent appliances at hand including an electric oven with a gas hob, as well as enjoying plenty of storage space. Delight in winding down on the sofas in this harmonious lounge area while you discuss your plans for the rest of the break, watch a film on the TV, or take a good book from the shelf to get lost in, all while being warmed by the traditional woodburning stove resting within the fireplace. After long summer walks or brisk winter strolls, head upstairs to the first floor and indulge in a deep soak in the roll-top bath within the large bathroom, resting on beautifully-finished wood floors, you will also find a separate shower here too. When you are in need of rest, cosy up under the covers in one of the single beds in the twin bedroom of excellent quality. Guests staying in the second-floor super-king-size bedroom will take pleasure in the dual aspect windows granting views of the nearby estuary and marina from the front, and vistas of Whitby cathedral from the rear, as well as having an elegant dressing table to make use of when getting ready for an evening out. Whitby has many wonderful sites to be visited during your holiday; climb the 199 steps up to St Mary’s Church and take in the commanding views of the coast below, before continuing on to the Gothic 7th century eerie ruins of Whitby Abbey and discover what inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Begin your descent back down the steps and cross Whitby Bridge to see the famous Whalebone Arch, or, as it’s just a short walk away from your cottage, dig your toes into the golden sands of Whitby Beach as you stroll across to Sandsend for a delectable lunch at one of the many beachfront cafés. For a woodland adventure, hop in the car and take a short drive down to the North Riding Forest Park and take a picturesque walk through the Yorkshire countryside. On your way back to the property, take a detour to the quintessential fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay and visit the National Trust owned Old Coastguard Station. Pipit House is the perfect place to spend your next holiday to North Yorkshire with your loved ones.
