A wonderful space for some home cooking or a light breakfast. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms: one double and one twin, with a separate family bathroom, with a bath and shower to choose from. The master bedroom is equipped with a lovely dressing table and a standard TV, ideal for some early morning shows in bed. The entire first floor has stripped wooden flooring, giving the property its cosy feel. Outside, there is a lovely patio area with a range of furniture with views over the Esk valley and the North Yorks Steam trains winding their way down the valley to Whitby. While you stay at Home Cottage, why not visit Whitby Abbey? A 7th century Christian monastery which later became a Benedictine abbey and a Grade I listed building. It is perched on a clifftop overlooking the town, the ruins were known as the home of the first known English poet: Cædmon. For the more athletic, give the 199 steps a try. Climb all 199 stone steps to witness stunning views across the harbour and Whitby town centre. Home Cottage is the place to be for those who enjoy the secluded countryside.

Whitby is a seaside town located in North Yorkshire, England. The abbey ruin at the top of the East Cliff is the town's oldest and most prominent landmark. St Mary's Church is a Grade I listed building on the site of a Saxon church dates back from the 12th century. Pannett Park was built on land purchased by a local philanthropist and politician Alderman Robert Pannett in 1902. After his death in 1928, the trust he set up created a public park and art gallery.
