Ideally placed for exploring the cobbled back street shops, indoor market, abbey, church and a 3-mile stretch of golden sand. Whitby is a fishing town that is home to many amazing events throughout the year, including the bi-annual Goth Weekender, an annual folk festival, Christmas Festival and the Whitby Regatta. Alongside this, Whitby attracts visitors from all over who love to sample the many bars, restaurants, cafés and tea rooms, as well as museums and galleries. Take a walk up the 199 steps to the gothic abbey, made famous by Bram Stoker’s novel ’Dracula’, for a breathtaking view across the town, or jump on board one of the tourist boats that sail out for a different view of the town. You can even do a spot of whale watching at the right time of year.
