Snaptrip says

Abbey View Cottage is frequently described as cosy and comfortable, with many guests praising its cleanliness and warm atmosphere. The location is appreciated for its quiet rural setting and proximity to Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, offering a mix of coastal and moorland walks. The presence of friendly owners and pets adds to the charm, although some guests noted issues with outdoor space and maintenance.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of reviews highlight the cottage as clean and tidy, with only a few negative comments regarding dog waste in the courtyard and mould on windows. The positive remarks suggest a high level of cleanliness overall.

The cottage's location is generally well-received for its tranquillity and accessibility to local attractions. Some guests, however, felt the outdoor space was too exposed to nearby camping areas, slightly detracting from the location's appeal.

Guests often mention the comfort of the cottage, particularly the bed and seating. The warm and cosy nature of the property is a recurring theme, indicating a high level of comfort for visitors.

Facilities are deemed adequate by most, with a well-equipped kitchen and good heating. However, some guests reported issues with plumbing, stiff taps, and a lack of Wi-Fi, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance and facilities.

While guests have expressed appreciation for the welcoming nature of the owners and the festive decorations during Christmas, there is insufficient information on consistent thoughtful gestures such as gifts to accurately assess this category.

About this property

Robin Hood's Bay 2 miles.

A charming stone-built barn conversion, opposite a working dairy farm, in the small rural farming village of High Normanby, close to pretty Fylingthorpe and just 2 miles from Robin Hood's Bay. Cosily furnished throughout, the property has an appealing garden to the front with impressive views across open farmland to Whitby Abbey. Well situated for enjoying all that the National Park has to offer and perfect for exploring the wonderful Yorkshire Coast. The owners live in the adjoining property and personally welcome visitors. This property is next to Refs. 1813 and 3759 and together they accommodate 6.

With its narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages, Robin Hood's Bay is one of the most picturesque villages on the English coast. Situated between Scarborough and Whitby, this charming fishing community is located at the edge of a sweeping bay backed by cliffs and rugged moorland scenery. Visitors can enjoy a variety of beach and cliff top walks, or alternatively more serious walkers can attempt the long distance trails that pass through the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Coast to Coast walks – all of which take in Robin Hood's Bay.
