About Rawcliffe House Farm

Beautifully situated in the peaceful North York Moors National Park, Rawcliffe House Farm near Pickering offers a superb choice of 18th century cottages and studio rooms which are surrounded by far reaching countryside views. A haven of peace and tranquillity just twenty miles north of York, walkers and cyclists will enjoy exploring the 554 square miles of magical moorland, ancient woodland, secluded dales, historic sites and a stunning Jurassic Age coastline with fine sandy beaches. The night skies above are recognised as one of the best areas in the country for stargazers and a wealth of wildlife call the surrounding countryside their home including deer, barn owls, kestrels, woodpeckers, nuthatches and many more.

Families are very welcome and our grounds have a choice of outdoor seating areas, a children's play area and over an acre of grass for games. The whole family can also arrange to help feed our animals including our friendly goats and hens. Further afield, guests will find an excellent choice of traditional pubs serving food, cafes, market towns and restaurants to visit or explore the beautiful moorland on the North York Moors Steam Railway. Walcott Studio Room

Accessed via its own entrance from the south facing courtyard, Walcott was converted from the farm's former pig sty and is presented to a high standard throughout. This large ground floor room has a high beamed ceiling, three windows which let in plenty of light, a digital flat screen TV and two armchairs.  The super-king size bed can be presented as a twin if preferred and the modern bathroom has an electric shower. The hideaway kitchen has a full size fridge with freezer box, a microwave, kettle, toaster, food cupboard, sink and draining board. Please note that there is no hob or oven. 

Walcott opens up directly onto the courtyard with its sunny seating area and wonderful views. An idyllic retreat for both relaxing holidays and country short breaks.

Secure bike storage and basic tools. Bike hire is also available by pre-arrangement

Spotting scope with tripod, binoculars and nature books for watching the wildlife. Extra charges apply and use must be pre-booked

Telescope with tripod, binoculars, two red-light torches and star maps for dark sky enthusiasts. Again, extra charges apply and use of equipment must be pre-booked 

Large grounds with south facing courtyard, tables and chairs for guests use, and one acre of grass for games

Garden with seating areas, brick built bbq, play area for children and outdoor play equipment

Free Wi-Fi with 10MB connection through the farm

Friendly resident animals to meet - assisting with feeding can also be arrangement in advance

Cloth Fair Cottage - our accessible one bedroom property with ramp access, open plan living area & deck. Sleeps 2

Hindburn Cottage - a light and spacious one bedroom cottage with south west facing patio. Sleeps 2

Availability

Short breaks are welcome except over the Christmas/ New Year period when a seven night minimum stay applies. No pets.
