Around and About

The vibrant seaside town of Scarborough has been a fashionable seaside resort since Victorian times and many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens still draw the visitors in today. The historic Castle which overlooks the town is still a popular attraction whilst the north and south bays provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches - perfect for families with small children and those who enjoy water sports. Amongst the many visitor attractions within the town is the Stephen Joseph Theatre that premieres all of Sir Alan Ayckbourn's plays. During certain times of year visitors can also enjoy the famous Scarborough Fair which remains an annual event. Bustling with the usual seaside entertainment along the promenade as well as the glorious sandy beaches, Scarborough is a destination with something for everyone to enjoy.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
