About this property

Skipton 6 miles. Situated near the small hamlet of Broughton, close to Skipton in North Yorkshire, is this delightful stone-built former stable and coach house, dating back to 1734. Internally, the property has been renovated into a wonderful base for friends and families seeking a rural escape with your partner and furry companions. Entering the property, you will come to an entrance hall, with places to hang you coats, drop off your muddy boots and bags, before heading into this beautiful dwelling. Step into the sitting room, with its corner sofa to curl up with your loved ones, whilst the warming woodburning stove provides that extra bit of warmth during the chillier evenings where you can enjoy the Smart TV. Walk through to the open-plan kitchen/diner, fitted to a high-standard and housing all the appliances you could need to rustle up delicious meals for the whole family, whilst the dining area has seating for four, where the party can gather for a hearty breakfast to plan the day's events. From the kitchen is a family bathroom with a bath and shower over, so you can decide how best to prepare for your day. Follow the steps up to the first-floor and discover two well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a double and a small double as well as a separate WC with basin. Both rooms have been individually styled with a light decor, contemporary furnishings for storage purposes, and matching bedside tables with lamps for some late night reading. Step out to the large garden where you can enjoy a refreshing beverage and a spot of alfresco dining. There are many walks and cycle routes from the door with the nearest public footpath about 5 seconds from the door. Resting close to Skipton, this thriving market town offers a range of tourist attractions. For a spot of history, the 12th century medieval Skipton Castle is well-worth a visit, as is The Craven Museum, showcasing glimpses into Skipton's rich history. Skipton also offers a range of traditional Yorkshire pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience, whilst the shops and supermarkets are ideal for picking up those last-minute cooking essentials. Venture into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park for accessing many of its country attractions, with plenty of walking, hiking and cycling opportunities. Glebe Cottage is the perfect place to reside for those seeking a rural break to North Yorkshire.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2008 the Academy of Urbanism voted the High Street the best shopping spot in Britain, and The Copper Dragon/Greyhawk Brewery is highly rated in the camra listings

The kitchen is well equipped with handy instructions for the appliances. It's very close to Skipton but feels remote. It's easy to access lots of beautiful walking country. I can highly recommend the cottage as a base to explore the Dales.
