Also in Leyburn is The Forbidden Corner, a 4-acre garden with a labyrinth of tunnels, follies and other surprises. The attractive Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and race horses. The horses are a great sight as they make their way to the gallops every morning. We found it warm despite the cold weather at the time and the lack of central heating: the storage heaters worked fine instead. The huge log burner was a delight when lit. It was also conveniently placed for what we wanted to do. We managed to park in front of the property every day we were there, which isn't always guaranteed. The kitchen despite it's size, could do with a few more secure storage places for bread and the like. The walk-in pantry is used to store cleaning equipment and materials so we couldn't use it for food. One or two of the pans (frying) need replacing I think.

Cottage was so comfotable and spacious. Well stocked with all we needed. Middleham is a lovely village with good pubs and places to eat and so central for visiting places of interest in the are. Would definitly visit again.
