Resting on a quiet lane on the edge of the charming village of Langcliffe, just outside of Settle on the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is Winskill Cottage, a charming cottage surrounded by picturesque rolling countryside. This property is ideal for a couple or small group of friends looking to spend quality time together exploring the stunning countryside of this region of Yorkshire. Step inside the property to discover a welcoming open-plan living space, with a fully-equipped kitchen decorated in neutral hues with a splash of vibrant red paint providing the perfect space to cook delicious home-cooked meals, to be enjoyed together at the dining table, before retreating to the sofas to relax in front of the woodburning stove with a good book from the bookcase or with a movie night on the wall mounted TV.

When sleep is calling, retire upstairs to the good-sized king-size double bedroom, served by a bathroom with bath and shower over, so you can enjoy the choice of a long soak or quick rinse in the shower to begin each day. Explore your surroundings on foot, with several public footpaths taking you through the Dales' finest scenery from your doorstep, while the River Ribble flows close by and offers lovely riverside strolls up towards Stainforth Force waterfall and the hiking area of Catrigg Force. The surrounding area of the Yorkshire Dales boasts the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs and caves, with Jubilee Cave and Victoria Cave close by.

Move downstream towards the bustling market town of Settle, just a mile from the cottage, with its charming market square, town hall and wonderful selection of independent shops. Catch a show at the traditional theatre, go for a swim at the indoor pool, and be sure to take a trip along the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway, passing the Ribblehead Viaduct and some incredible upland scenery. Head to Ingleton and embark on the four-mile trail towards its magnificent waterfalls and the nearby White Scar Cave, the UK's longest show cave, filled with caverns and waterfalls, and why not take on the challenge of a hike up Ingleborough, where you will discover a historic fort and Iron Age ruins? Langcliffe is a charming village, just a mile from Settle on the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Langcliffe boasts a lovely old church and several picturesque walking trails, while nearby Settle offers a good selection of restaurants and pubs, as well as a monthly farmers' market and a public swimming pool. Take a journey along the Settle-Carlisle Railway, which famously crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country.     It was well equipped, comfortable and convenient. The location, in a pretty and friendly village, gave access to great walks direct from the property and an easy walk along a quiet lane into Settle for shops, pubs and other places of interest. The owners provided lots of helpful information and nearby parking was easy . Very highly recommended.
