The historic city of York is just 8 miles away and there are regular buses into the centre, or easy access from the park and ride at the designer outlet (5 miles). York appeals to all ages with its abundance of attractions including the iconic Minster, National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre. There are street entertainers and ghost walks along the cobbled alleyways, numerous festivals and markets throughout the year and a wide choice of inns, restaurants and tearooms. Wheldrake Ings, a significant conservation area and nature reserve is close by and the Yorkshire Air Museum and Museum of Farming provide a fascinating insight into the past, whilst throughout the summer lots of family fun can be found at the York Maze. Great little cottage and perfect location for exploring the area. The park and ride so close was an added bonus. Only negative was the hot tub needs attention

This cottage is so cute and well equipped for our stay. We stayed 3 nights and could easily have stayed longer Warm and cosy with the added bonus of the hot tub. Regardless of the weather, the hot tub was used every night.The pub is just to the right of the cottage, for a drink and darts or pool and there's a local store too should you need anything.Id happily recommend staying here, super cute and quant village with park & rides close by for access to the city.
