The village of Ulrome is situated between Bridlington and Hornsea making it a perfect base to visit the east coast, the Wolds and the North Yorkshire Moors. A short walk from the house brings you to the beach at Ulrome, which is reached by steps. Hornsea, a short drive, is well known for its popular outlet village. There is also Hornsea Mere, which at two and a half miles long is Yorkshire’s largest freshwater lake. It attracts wildlife and rare species, ideal for those birdwatchers amongst you.
The market town of Beverley is one of Yorkshire’s best kept secrets and is just a 20-minute drive away. Beverley Minster is known for its abundance of stone carvings, stained glass and decoration. History buffs, music lovers and shoppers are attracted to the town’s pretty cobbled streets and courtyards.
Bridlington is a traditional Victorian seaside resort with fantastic beaches stretching to Sewerby. It still has a very busy working harbour where you can sit for many an hour watching the fishermen bring in their catch.
Be sure to visit the Old Town of Bridlington with its narrow streets and stunning Georgian houses. The alleyways hide the little antique and art shops so take time to meander and you will not be disappointed. Bridlington Priory can be found in the Old Town, one of the most stunning buildings you will see. Here you can watch one of their musical events, listen to the choirs or just enjoy one of the many services. On an evening there are plenty of restaurants, bars and of course The Spa, where you can see International acts throughout the year.
During your stay why not visit the city of York? In less than an hour you can be in the centre of York for some fantastic shopping or be a tourist and hop on one of the many tourist buses that take you around this beautiful city. You can walk around the city on the medieval walls or sail along the river on a cruise.

The Old Coach House is a charming and comfortable holiday cottage. Although located quite close to a roadway it is well screened and traffic noise was not an issue. The kitchen was well equipped, although some cookware was a bit tired. We found the king size bed very comfortable, likewise the settees in the lounge area. It was nice to find a large screen T V (even though operation needed some tuition from Roger for a pair of septuagenarians) We would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday cottage.
