There is a fenced pond in the grounds.. Greengage is a romantic hideaway enjoying a private and peaceful location within a sheep grazed orchard and sharing its surroundings with another holiday property, Russet (CC245031). The accommodation is all on one level, has an open plan layout and includes a wood burner in the lounge and picturesque views from its patio. Skipsea’s sandy beach, two pubs, a restaurant and shops are just under a mile, and the local leisure park’s gym and indoor swimming pool are two miles.
Further up the coast there are the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough. Bempton Cliffs bird reserve is well worth a visit where you will see puffins, guillemots and seals in their natural habitat. It’s a perfect base to see what Yorkshire has to offer from the North York Moors to the east coast and The Wolds there’s so much to see and do. York, Scarborough and Pickering are about an hour’s drive. Sledmere House is just one of many stately homes you can visit as well as Sewerby Hall and Burton Agnes Hall, all close by. For evening entertainment there’s plenty in Bridlington with The Spa hosting International shows all year round.

We could not fault Greengage. It was comfortable and very well equipped. We particularly appreciated the welcome hamper. The rural location was quiet. We had sheep as neighbours and enjoyed sitting on the patio listening to the birds. It is well situated to reach the Coast and The Wolds. The nearest Town is Driffield which has its own railway station if required. We will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greengage - it was comfortable, clean and well-equipped, with a very generous welcome pack. The only slight disappointment was needing to drive to the nearest beach, rather than be able to walk there. but Fraisthorpe was well worth the drive!

We had a lovely relaxing break at the cottage.Quiet and peaceful, it is nicely placed to travel to local places during the day and has places to eat or pick up takeaways in a close vicinity.The cottage was well laid out and clean and tidy and help you relax.The only thing for me is due to my operations on my hips is I found the settee’s not as comfortable after a time sitting on them, but that would definitely not stop us from going back to stay again.Lovely place
