Wow what a lovely house in a gorgeous peaceful setting. Very rural but a short drive to shops etc.Well placed for visiting the coast and lovely Towns such as Beverly and Driffield and lots of great nature reserves in the area. We loved watching all the hares and Barn Owls from the garden and all round the vicinity. The house itself is very well equipped and beautifully furnished. Sadly the beds were all small doubles and with temperatures over 30 degrees my husband and I had to sleep in separate rooms as in such small beds we would have cooked. Also we would have liked better garden furniture. Luckily I had noticed the picnic bench in the photos so we had taken fold up chairs with us....it would not have been very comfortable sunbathing on the bench provided. Apart from that I'd say the cottage was just perfect and having a huge garden with no escape route for our inquisitive Spaniel was the icing on the cake!

A lovely, well equipped and spacious cottage. The dog loved exploring the garden. Unfortunately its rural setting is currently impacted by major underground cable works in the adjacent fields. We experienced daily noise and a direct view of heavy machinery. A temporary access track for the machinery and vehicles runs along the border of the garden. If you are looking for complete quiet and uninterrupted countryside views over the next few months, you may want to check the status of the local works before booking. Great cottage, but the surrounding construction timing was unfortunate

Given our whole experience 3 stars for this. The house when you walk in a wow, the secure garden for dogs is excellent and the welcome pack very generous. Can highly recommend the fish and chip shop in Nafferton! However, we felt that all of the 5* reviews has made the owners complacent, there was cleaning issues from cobwebs on all the bedroom ceilings, manky rug in the living room and cups all stained. Also agree with other reviewer utensils are lacking if you are like us you like to cook. For this price point you expect to feel you are the first person to have ever stayed there but you don't. We also had issues with main door and patio doors not locking and when you are in the middle of nowhere and the security lights kept coming on you can feel vulnerable. But the main issue was the heating 3 rooms were really hot but the kitchen and all of the upstairs were freezing and no instruction on how to work it. Called the owner initially and came across as a bit dismissive. After that call 2 people felt 2 days into a 7 night break they couldn't get up or out of the shower to the cold so they left. The owner came the next day to look at it, he is a nice guy but didn't really take the issue too seriously and repeated they have a heat pump so its normal. We said there was no instruction left on how to work the heating or the induction hob and he just "oh right" . We also advise that when the oven is on the grill sounds there was something angry trying to bang its way out and he said they knew about that. We just got the impression everyone else pays and leaves amazing reviews but that is not a true picture of our experience, which is sad as it is a beautiful property that just needs a better cleaner and a small investment. Oh and there was also the flies, you would come back to dead flies on the carpet and dozens of new ones all upstairs in the bedrooms and bathrooms. .Given the cold we had no windows open so didn't know how they were getting in.
