Moss Cottage is a beautiful, stone-built abode resting in the countryside of Cragg Vale. Boasting countryside views and a tranquil location, this abode is ideal for couples or small families seeking a getaway to West Yorkshire. Be welcomed into a tastefully outfitted property with an open-plan living space, offering a well-fitted kitchen where guests can cook up a storm, before dining together round the table. The sitting area offers a space to recline with a coffee as you warm your feet beside the crackling woodburning stove and reflect on the day's adventures. When sleep calls, climb the stairs and freshen up in the shower room, before cosying up in either a king-size or single bedroom, both overlooking the moors.
When the sun is shining, make the most of the fresh air and head out into the enclosed garden space, dining alfresco. There is so much to be explored with a stay at Moss Cottage. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1051077, 1129187 & 1051079, together sleeping up to 12 guests.
The beautiful Pennine village of Cragg Vale is situated on the steep and winding Cragg Road and is the longest incline in England, still a major challenge to cyclists. The road winds its way up to beautiful heather-clad moorland, 1000 feet above sea level, and wooded cloughs and babbling brooks that cascade down the hillsides beckon the walker to explore the countryside. On the other side of the valley is the village of Luddenden and the glorious oak woodlands that make up Jerusalem Farm, a local nature reserve made famous by TV's In Loving Memory. In fact, this beautiful area has also featured in TV shows Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax. Nearby Hebden Bridge is a diverse and bohemian town home to restaurants, bars, bistros, markets, an independent cinema, art galleries, and the picturesque Rochdale Canal. A scenic car ride over the moors takes you to the splendid Parsonage Museum which commemorates the famous Bronte family. The area is a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway. Skipton, "Gateway to the Dales", is also an easy and scenic car ride away.
