The Wooden Lodge in Bucknell is praised for its seclusion, peacefulness, and dog-friendly garden. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, tasteful decor, and welcoming touches from the owners. The surrounding countryside offers beautiful walks, though the narrow access road and lack of phone signal may not suit everyone. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, guests are keen to return.
Reviews generally describe the lodge as very clean, with only one mention of dog nose marks on windows suggesting room for improvement. The positive remarks suggest a high level of cleanliness overall.
The location is celebrated for its tranquillity and views, with easy access to local walks. However, the narrow access road and poor phone reception are drawbacks for some, slightly lowering the score.
Guests find the beds extremely comfortable and the lodge cosy, contributing to a high comfort score. The only negative is a mention of heavy duvets, which may not suit everyone's preference.
Facilities are well-regarded, especially the secure garden and well-equipped kitchen. Criticisms include the absence of a washer/dryer and Wi-Fi issues, which suggest some room for improvement in this category.
While guests mention welcome gifts and helpful items like shower gel, there are not enough reviews discussing these aspects to accurately score thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be provided consistently.

Such a lovely few days away. So quiet and peaceful. Everything we needed and loved the log burner ❤️ The owners have really made a great job of this place feeling completely private and secluded but they are so close on hand if you need them. Our doggies loved roaming around the secure garden too. Sned Woods literally 2 min drive away was great little walk with the dogs.

Excellent base for walking and exploring the area . One week wasn't long enough. Phone reception was poor. That didn't bother me but it might be a problem for some people. I

I almost don't want to recommend it too highly otherwise everyone will want to stay there!! Lovely clean, tastefully decorated, the most comfortable of beds, safe garden for two inquisitive dogs - relaxing accommodation in a peaceful environment. Welcome gifts from the owners and help for we technophobes in working out the workings of the tv were much appreciated .Even a local power cut and an unexpected visit to the vet (contact details thoughtfully supplied in information pack from the owners, which was a godsend and, thankfully, pooch was okay) did not affect my sister and I rating this property as one of the loveliest we had been too and we will be booking again for next year.
